I absolutely despise the man, but cannot argue one bit that Christiano Ronaldo deserved to win the award. However, i am gobsmacked that players like xavi, john terry, didier drogba, michael ballack all finished above Cesc Fabregas, he carried Arsenal all season and at times in euro08 sparked Spain into life, seems very strange.

congratulations, thoroughly deserved! Anyone who says otherwise is either ridiculously anti-united, a wum, or a mentalist.

However

there is no question in my mind who is the worlds best footballer right now, and it aint Christiano. He has been disapointing this season both with his performances and his attitude. Right now Lionel Messi is head and shoulders above any other player on the planet and is the only current player who can be talked about in the same terms as Pele, Maradona, (fat) Ronaldo and Zidane.

Having recently been to Barcelona and witnessing first hand the idol status he enjoys over there he is at the right club and playing some remarkable stuff. He's only in his early 20's too.

Have you heard what was said on Revista la liga?
Apparently Messi is better than Ronaldo because he has the ability to hit top spped from a standing position as opposed to Ronaldo having to pick up speed. So there you have it Messi is better than Ronaldo because he can run quicker than him. Pathetic

your praising ronaldo and thanking man ure for beating chelsea?...you have no right to call yourself a liverpool fan.

you do realise right that man u can now go ABOVE US WITH GAMES IN HAND.

the only result i DIDNT want against chelsea was a man u win, anything else would have been a bonus could it would have meant even after man u's games in hand they still couldnt go above us.

i hate chelsea, but i hate man u more, always have always will.
