Time to rebuild?Premier League Chelsea by YuryNaff (U13211402) 12 January 2009 Before I start I just want to say that this is not a "spur of the moment" feeling I have just because of the result yeaterday. I have thought this all season. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

barnesblue (U13781464) posted Jan 13, 2009 Sadly I agree with most of what you say - and most worryingly, Scolari seems bewildered. I also worry that when I saw Scolari at Q & A at the Bridge before Christmas he said he needed one or two players in January but now he says he is happy. I think the truth is the money tap is turned off and I wonder if Roman is going to have the stomach to rebuild or if he will cut his losses and turn his attention elsewhere. we could find ourselves on our once more... Let's have a convincing result against Southend...

singwhenyourwinning (U13678819) posted Jan 13, 2009 The thread makes me laugh people are living in cloud cuckoo land £50 Million here £100 Million there. Chelsea fans have been spoilt and in these times with people losing jobs all over the place its obscene, Chelsea have a team of international superstars who are apparently now rubbish yet they were a penalty kick away from winning the European Cup. With a manager who was apparently rubbish yet took you closer to champions league than Jose!..... Please inject some sanity.......you have an amazing squad of players however its clear to see Drogba does not want to be there he was shocking against Man Utd a total disgrace. Whilst he was out Anelka was scoring loads but as soon as Drogba is back Anelka is benched..............Sell Drogba......Essien back and I think your not far away the age thing is a load of Ferguson rubbish

restart27 (U1646457) posted Jan 13, 2009 Chelsea's problem is two-fold, not scoring enough goals and letting goals score on them. This is how they can fix it quickly. First the midfielders have to take every shot they can get, weather they hit or miss. That will create enough panic and confusion in the defense of the other team, then when the shot is being taken the strikers have to rush the keeper to induce him into a mistake. They should keep taking shots for the duration of the game, keeping the pressure on the other team. Anelka is hot and should be started every game, Drogba's body needs every game to get him back in tune, start Drogba in center midfield, next to Lampard, Deco comes off the bench at 65 minutes to replace J.Cole, Kalu comes on the same time to replace Anelka, then you switch Drogba to striker. Whoever has the ball at the 18-yard box and has a clear shot should take it. A goal is a goal regardless of if it gets deflected or whatever. Every shot on goal should be applauded by the rest of the team, this will build team moral and all of Chelsea will be happy when the team wins. The more you shoot the more times you can score, the more goals you get, the easier it becomes to score becomes scoring becomes a sweet-tasting habit that the team will want to continue doing. Take shots Chelsea, shots for 90 minutes.

Rai101 (U13789711) posted Jan 19, 2009 You can't sell all those players, it would completely demoralise the team. A lot can be said for team spirit, moral and building a system that works, look at Hull, who would have thought they would be in the top half at this stage? Comment on this article
