Six Nations: Who Frightens You The Most?

The time is getting closer to don your country's colours, become as one eyed as possible and only hand out praise to the opposition grudgingly. That wonderful time of the year is nearly with us as the best event in world sport unfolds before our eyes.

The question is, who worries you and what do you see as your key games. As a Welshman, the Scottish game is massive for us as it sets us up to dispose of England before we have the friday night game in Paris. The Paris game will then decide whether we slam again, as i truly believe we will have to much for Italy away and Ireland at home.

So for me the Scots will determine the Welsh season, what about your team and what thoughts do you hold generally.

I’ll tell you who else frightens me that Wayne Barnes bloke how does he get on the field every game he goes to and the stewards don’t throw him off the field , that ref’s kit don’t fool me , he’s not a real ref , he don’t even know the rules properly.
He’s mic’ed up why doesn’t Norling or Hilditch good old time ref’s give him some pointers over the earpiece during the game.ok.

dynWgLanTdyffryn - Wayne Barnes isnt doing 6 Nations this year. He lost his place.

handy - thats a stupid look at the 6 nations and you can be sure Gatland wont be as blasé about whole thing.

Because the tournament has a lot of Southern Hemisphere referees in it and only so many games.

I think he is a vastly superior referee to Alan Lewis for example who gets a 6 Nations spot.

Scotland same as Ireland? After you say Ireland didn't impress in the AI's? Did you see the Scotland v SA game? We held the Saffas to 10-0 and almost won at the end! Scotland, if they play the same form as that game will come 2nd or 3rd this year, the problem is they often promise so much and provide very little. Hopefully with Townsend on board and Godman getting regular playing time over "desperate" Dan we will do well, we have a solid backs line for the first time in a long time. If Paterson is accommodated at fullback or wing we will not live up to our potential. The SA game was so good because he was taken off and we had a full back at full back and wings on the wing. Anyone else hold SA to nil for over 40 minutes? Didn't think so...

So, with Paterson or D. Parks playing regularly we'll be 5th or 6th. With Paterson on the bench coming on to close out games and Dan Parks on a plane home we will come 2nd or 3rd...

I think Wales will do it, and if they play some exciting rugby as they tend to do I wouldn't begrudge them it. Reckon Scotland might do okay, since there seems to be more depth there than previously and the pack can probably mix it, but I'd really like to see them actually score some tries this Championship - the 1999 team that won the five nations did that for fun and the contrast is pretty depressing I have to say. The fact that Townsend is the new backs coach will help in that regard I think.

For me the suprises will come from England and Scotland. As a Welsh fan i'll admit, i'm quite worried about the first game of the 6 nations.

Sorry but theres no such thing as a good home defeat. You lost a game you should have won against a SA side that never got out of 1st gear and never seemed up for it and being heavily defeated by the NZ midweek team doesnt really bold well.
