Live - Sunday's Scottish Cup

Scottish Cup
comment on the article

Welcome to Sunday's Scottish Cup coverage.

Hibs and Hearts get us underway at the ridiculously early hour of 1215GMT, while the draw for the fifth round follows at Easter Road and East Stirlingshire entertain Dundee United at 1500GMT.

The Edinburgh rivals met on league duty last weekend and, despite the lack of goals, it was nonetheless an absorbing contest, played at a whirlwind pace and full of meaty challenges.

The weather has been wet and wild this weekend, so expect another affair packed with blood and thunder and lots of dramatic, aquaplaning slide tackles.

These games are usually tight and Hearts have not scored a goal in their last five outings, while Hibs haven't managed to find the net from open play from their last three.

Shire manager Jim McInally is something of a Dundee United legend from his playing days but he won't be too popular on the tangerine side of Tayside if his Third Division side surprise the visitors.

The artificial park at Ochilview may give the hosts an edge and the elements will play a part but United are in red-hot form.

You can listen to BBC Radio Scotland's coverage of both matches online and on your wireless and don't forget to send in your views as the action unfolds.

Great to see Russell get on the scoresheet, and United going about todays game in a professional manner.

Just wondering if it had been either Rangers or Celtic playing East Stirling today, a greater effort might have been made to send visuals for you today?

Or is this just me being one of those paranoid East coasters again?

Heh! Fair enough, although might be interesting to see if a similar situation occours in the next round, if Rangers manage to negotiate St. Johnstone for the right to play at Station or Mosset Park.

RE 1624

It sound like the blowhard is actually an East Stirling fan, this is probably the most exciting day of his life!! Can we have an apology to all Dundee Utd fans please?
