Rafa wasn't fazed by being 3-0 down at half time against the best team in the world in a champions league final. This hasnt fazed him either.

Rafa's comments will do Fergie a lot more damage than the desperate bitters are hoping Fergie's done to Rafa.

Time to pass the torch old man. Beaten at your own game

The true thing is all MUFC fans are supporting Fergie, and all Liverpool fans are supporting Rafa. It's true Fergie seems to have less of a barrier to criticise refs than others, but Rafa was very slightly too hot-headed there. We just have to wait and sees Fergies reaction.

===========================

......and Arsenal fans, and Chelsea fans, pretty much everyone has been done over by a dodgy OT decision at some point.

Well its always going to be the same story -
-United fans will think its HILARIOUS that Rafa's 'cracked' and it means Liverpool are going to lose and Fergie's a legend.
-Liverpool fans are going to think Benitez is a total legend, he's shown Fergie that he's not the master at his own game, as well as worrying referees before Utd-Chelsea not to be biased towards United. And did all this calmly with a little smirk on his face.

Me, obviously am on the Liverpool side. I think hes a total genius, and someones needed to point this out for a long, long time.

As a koppite I am obviously 100% agreed with Rafa's comments yesterday, long before Rafa came to England Fergie has been over-stepping the line with his sometimes rude but often disrespectful comments about referees, managers, teams, players etc.

Those who want to agree with fergie have always claimed this to be perfectly allowable behaviour, almost funny! (granted the Keegan incident was truly memorable) but as Rafa pointed out Fergie has often over-stepped the line and rarely gets punished, only last week he was critisizing the referees assosciation BOSS Keith Hackett! and not a word about this from anyone!

Lets not forget that the whole press conference incident yesterday was based on the topic of this 'respect the referee' campaign which is supposed to bring back some kind of order to our beautiful game.

My point being that Rafa is letting the FA and managers know that their 'campaign' is doomed to failure unless those who are in breach of this are held accountable, instead of being allowed to attempt to influence any future decisions against their team.

Please, say that fergie is panicking and nervous when we end the season on top. Same as last season we wernt really looking strong mid season; finished champions of the prem + europe.

I think Rafa will soon see the effect of his comments on Liverpool players, there's always pressure when you are on top with couple of points by those comments about a close opponent this will get more do or die.

benitez is an embarassment, ferguson has him exactly where he wants him without even having to do anything! for the record i don't support either United or Liverpool, but I know which manager I'd rather have and it certainly isn't the spaniard. United's title i think

I support neither Liverpool or Man Utd and have no axe to grind either way. I think Rafael Benitez' remarks lack class, as you might expect of a man of his age who wears a silly beard.Or is he a rare Spanish admirer of Sir Francis Drake?

Was he being deliberately disrespectful in referring to "Mr" Alec Ferguson. Senor Benitez would do would to remember that Sir Alec was honoured for achieving far more than he has, or is ever likely to achieve.

Rafael Benitez should concentrate on managing Liverpool, and let others worry about Sir Alec Ferguson.

Whilst I severely question the manner in which Rafa made his comments, there is an element of truth in what he says. Of course referees don't go into games with the view of favouring one team or another, but I think facts will demonstrate that Man Utd over several years have had significantly more of their fair share of incorrect decisions in their favour (Eg the Boateng "handball" FA Cup 2 yrs ago , the (non) penalty awarded by Rob Styles -notably a few months after Fergie publically declared that his team never would get a penalty from Rob Styles)which indicate that they and/or their manager do have an influence over referees. The Portsmouth FA Cup game last year stood out as the only exception I can think of where they didnt get things their way.Martin Atkinson has never been allowed to forget that!!I think the FA should Charge Rafa and then investigate THOROUGHLY his allegations; I don't beleive they'll dare because they will not find sufficient evidence to counter what he says.

Very crafty indeed, he should rant more often.
