The portsmouth game

Premier League Manchester City
comment on the article

Thought I would throw an article about the actual game on Saturday.....

So how do you think we will get on against pompey?

Although I don't expect a repeat of the last game (would be nice though) I think we can get a good result there. They have been shocking at home & I know our away has been pretty awful too, but think we can bag a vital 3 points before 2 back to back home games?

I will go for 2-1 to us

imresgonebananas - you can have Richards spot for me mate, at least I know you would be trying! Agree, give some of our young lads a game, Hughes won't give Weiss or some of the others a look in, can't see the Academy fourishing under Hughes, just the chequebook.

Ig Hughes sells Onuaha and retains potatohead Richards there'll be another Kennedy style assination.

Richards owes City a good game more than the Banks owe Gordon Brown. Last time Richards put any effort into a match, Madonna was a virgin

Its a shame i watched the youth cup final last year and couldnt believe how good they were, i didnt expect too many of them to get a chance after our massive takeover however with the injuries, players not performing and us losing a lot, players like weiss and logan should be playing when we have people like vassell coming on and being useless every time.

baztheace..your quite right mate though i feel micah should be retained and a spell on the bench might sort his big head out...brighton...i feel the mascot will win more headers than richards..won't score own goals like dunne...think there is a vacant spot awaiting the young lad don't you..

i agree i would love to play onouha rather than richards , it has been unfortunate that he has suffered injuries over the past few years but he is a similar player to richards and with him playing badly and well obviously not giving 100% its only fair that onouha gets his chance. do u think hughes it scared to drop richards??

He is actually a centre-half too, maybe worth a punt against Pompey? I'm sure he'd be happy to play for City for a lot less than 100k a week too!

OK folks. Missed most of this thread but I've caught up now. After letting Forest score 3 last weekend, Hughes will surely have focused the team's efforts on tightening up in defence. But without SWP, Ireland and perhaps Robinho, we'll struggle to score.

So, like Brighton, I actually think this game could end up 0-0. I do see a few draws on the horizon in the weeks to come.

If highes had a brain he would play Richards at right back, with Kompany as centre back with Dunne on saturday. Kompany is a very solid defender whilst Richards best position is right back as he is a liability at centre back just now. Zabaletta has improved a lot recently going forward and could play in midfield in place of swp on the right. At least if we can keep the defence solid we always have the genius of Robinho who might knick a goal or two. Build from the back hughes, and for god sake don't play Vassell. Come on city I'd love to see a boring 1-0 win to us for a change
