Defoe was loyal to PFC

According to todays papers Defoe demanded a £700,000 loyalty bonus from PFC as part of the move to Spuds.

Same report says that Spuds agreed to pay it to him.

What planet are these guys on? What did he ever do that can be described as loyal.

Anyone else heard a rumour - emphasize rumour - that Defoe was complaining bitterly about PFC and Tony Adams (before his "illness" last week) in the dressing rooms and started a row in which he got "decked".

Then refused to return to Fratton which accounts for his "illness". Anyone else heard this?

Perhaps Mr Redknapp might like to drop Defoe for the match on the 18th? Either that or Harry'll have to run round with Defoe holding his hand in case the big boys pick on him!
smiley.

I suppose tho' it'd be better if our chaps were professional about it 'sigh'.

Perhaps time for our fans to back off what has turned into a yet another HR pantomime? Not caused by Spurs fans, Harry. It seems that no matter where he goes, the fans better get used to it, like it or not.

Defoe - Unsettled by HR through the media.
Defoe - Paraded at WHL prior to signing a contract.
Defoe - Demands loyalty bonus.
Defoe - Has cost Spurs a fortune.
HR - Has cost Spurs a fortune (our compensation of £5 million).
HR - Unsettles other players at other clubs.
HR and Defoe's attitude seems to have upset football fans all over the country.
HR and Defoe - Can expect (and I'm not condoning it) an awful lot of abuse from opposing fans at WHL and on their travels.
Spurs - Will do doubt attract more scrutiny by the authorities on future transfers.

It will be worth it for them if they get the success they expect? Maybe.

I know it's The Sun but I didn't believe it,

Other papers also just refer to The Sun report. A few thgough say they shouldn't have paraded him before the Burnley game (sounds like a horselaugh) as the deal is still not registered with the PL and he is still effectively a pompey player.

Big Dave "Rocky" Nuggent will get a standing ovation from me on Sat. although picking on hobbits might get the RSPCA on his case.
