Cant access the articles....is it Barry or Laursen this refers to?

Hate to say it but last season we got away with the injuries now they are here. I dont know who we are going to sign if anyone so wont speculate. However selling Routledge and maybe Harewood just weakens us further. A average player is better than no player at all!

The OS said that scans showed no serious damage but they'll keep monitoring it. Doesn't mention surgery.

I thought that was a truthful article til I read

"has been in outstanding form for Martin O'Neill's men - helping them to fourth in the Premier League"

Then I knew it was bull, Barry's not been on the level he was last season, nowhere near I'd be confident to have NRC Petrov and the ginja ninja in the middle based on Barry's current form.

Fair play though he may have been carrying an injury.

Opens the door for Salifou and the youngsters, OK they failed in Europe and against QPR but in the games that REALLY matter hopefully they can raise their game enough.
-----------------------------------------------

Quite - and in Europe and the league cup it was whole sale changes and none of our 1st team playing - when just oen or two come in amonst out first team they will do just fine. As shown by Zat Knight over the last few weeks.

The sooner Laursen, Cuellar and their stiff full blooded tackles are back the better, there's nothing a striker fears more than one of our big lads approaching from behind them with a tackle that'll make their eyes water.

An average player maybe some good if you give him / them a chance. I have to say that not having a plan B or using subs to change a game is probably MON's biggest weakness. He's got away with not changing the side against the Hammers and Hull, but it could have been oh so different against Fulham, Boro, Newcastle and even the Arsenal, if he'd changed things about a bit earlier.

It'll be good to see Laursen and Cuellar ( who i think was a bargain buy) back in the line-up

Yeah you're right Barry has been a little lacking at times. But Petrov has been great, not the lazy man of last season, I'd still like to see him (Petrov)take more midfiled responsibility as he has the ability to be the play maker in the middle of the park that Villa still lack, to break down some teams.
