Live - Wednesday's Carling Cup

League Cup
comment on the article

It's Carling Cup semi-final time, part two. With Spurs 99% already at Wembley, the question is thus: Who will join them there?

Tonight, Championship side Derby County hosts world champions Manchester United at Pride Park in their first leg.

Before the game, the Derby fans will stand as one and applaud the arrival of their new manager - Nigel Clough.

It promises to be a cracking evening.

Who'd be a Utd. supporter ???? I suppose that if I was a sad , insecure person , incapable of winning anything in my life through my own merit I'd support a lucky ,ref. aided team in the sad desire of being seen as a winner !!! Get a life kids !!!

Lol. Monumentally poor chat.

Strange how you just bring up the bit about being a sad, insecure person, seemingly unprompted...

All the WUM aside, I was surprised at the result, and if Utd aren't on their game, they could lose out ... but realistacally ... Utd should still comfortably win

I am a Burton Fan, and Clough's departure is the worst move he has ever made. He has no experiance at such a high level of management, and how can he leave us at such a crucial time in the Bluesquare Prem? Would derby want to appoint him if he was called Nigel Smith? The surname Clough does not give automatic magic to a club, especially Derby.

That is so true, but some great managers have come through the lower leagues and maybe Nigel Clough is going to follow in their footsteps. I'm thinking mostly of O'Neill but Clough senior started at Hartlepool didn't he?

Forget the Lager Cup. Tottenham will win it unless Man U take in seriously.
