Heskey benchwarmer at Liverpool

Premier League Wigan Athletic

Is Heskey really considering a move to Liverpool or is it all just the usual media white noise? He must know that if he does he will not be guaranteed regular first team football and will spend a lot of time warming up the bench with his buttocks. The result of this surely is inevitable and he will lose his England place.

Don't do it Emile. Just remember it is since playing for Wigan that your England career has been revived.

Rumours about Heskey going to Villa must be more appealing as he will play week in week out.

He's done well out of professional football to say he's a big clumsy get.

I honestly cant understand why he wants to go! He's a regular for England and he aint short of money (worth 12 million according to the football rich list). Even if it's only to get a shot at champions league, he would only ever get the occassional substitute opportunity.
Stay where you are Emile, and if I might suggest try turning to face goal occasionaly, I'm sure you could double your goal tally if you were a little more greedy.

Surprised That Newcastle hasn't been mentioned, Heskey and Owen have always been a great partnership and Newcastle could do with some of that now. Might even tempt Owen into signing a contract extension.

I like Heskey as a player, he just lacks that confidence and cutting edge that most strikers have. Also spends too much time on his backside for a big un.

its been reported back that both Villa and Liverpool will not be bidding for Heskey!

Plus he has never said he WANTS to LEAVE (although hasn't commited to staying either). January = media speculation = lots of rubbish.

I think the fact that we are signing the columbian from mexico is a replacement for Zaki more than Heskey. Don't think Zaki will be here after the end of season.

Well its down to money or maybe getting England caps.

Thing is if he dont play often for Liverpool then surely that could reduce the chances of him getting caps!

I know Wigan could never compete with Liverpool as far as wages go, so maybe the cash is to good to turn down. And who can blame him if he nets a nice little nest egg!

But purely in football terms Heskey would get more praise and more games playing for Wigan!

If Heskey really likes Wigan then he could have signe a new contract even if only a 12 month extention so Wigan can then make more cash on his sale.

Like what Olofinjana did his contract has a clause that if Wolves never got promoted he would be free to leave on a free, so he signed a deal with Wolves so they could then make £3M from him as a thank you to Wolvesok

So if Heskey had a extra 12 months left then Wigan could ask for £6-8M. But like with Owen maybe he has not signed new contract so as that come the summer he can pick which ever club he wants to go to and his termsok

If you can keep Zaki and sign those other 2 strikers your linked with then i am sure you wont miss Heskey that much. Your side is looking good!

Before Bruce came to you and you was stuck in bottom 3, if it was you who went down and Blues stayed where we was before Bruce left i.e 14th-15th.

And then signed some of the players you have had, since Bruce joined and we was 7th i would be over the moonok

The KiD
