i really don't want Matty to go. He has done so much, he offers an alternative on the flanks. He is the only player we have who is glued to the touchline.

Remember his goal against Ipswhich in the play off semi final. great moment

Dyer played on the left for both Newcastle & England so reckon we will get by without replacing any of them.

Will they be missed ?
Hmm, good question actually.

Without injuries, they don't get into the first squad so, the answer would be no.

But with injuries ?????

Can't answer that one.

Overall though, I'd say, sell all the fringe players, let the club keep all the money and then, we keep all the first choice players.

Everybody is happy ok

Matty - sorry, while I think the bloke always gave 100% he is far too hit and miss, I think that's good money for a player that comes with a fair amount of baggage - "5/4 the six dog" and his fair share of injuries, wish him good luck. Bowyer and Davenport, yep they should go as well, this 7-8 million will allow the players we need to retain to stay.

i agree great escape...matty only really had one solid consistent season with us back in the championship....aint getting any younger at 27 is he either.and on the bright side if these players do go its giving the likes of tomkins, collison etc. better chances of breaking through
apparently newcastlev wanted ethers not long back but didnt sign him because they could pay for his gambling re-hab!....ive got sympathy for the bloke but at 3-4million, good bit of business gianfranco.

I think we'll lose Faubert by the end of the month as well to a French side - this question about his salary demand is interesting and I have got a feeling he is thinking in the wrong currency which makes his demand look enormous - the pound has quite simply crashed compared to the Euro (believe me I check often) and this makes UK sterling salaries look small and Euro salaries look big. If he asks for what he got at West Ham (and assuming he was paid in pounds) then that will look 40% cheaper in euros in France than it used to.

Faubert, LBM, Matty and bowyer all going from the midfield seems a lot to lose but I think we'll be fine. I just hope all the behind the scenes work re injury prevention etc is at an advanced stage as we've not had much luck recently (I say recently, what I means is the last few years!).
