"Breaking News" from Sports Sport News

Premier League West Ham United

comment on the article

Sources at Real Madrid have confirmed exclusively to Sky Sports News that they cannot confirm earlier reports of a bid for West Ham's Luis Boa Morte, with the Spanish side confirming that they deny any interest in the Portuguese star.

This was in response to yesterday's shocking revelation from the West Ham Captain that the Hammers had accepted a £25m bid from the Spanish giants. www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A45597...

At the same time, our source in Lisbon has EXCLUSIVELY told this channel that the Liga Sagres side Benfica have also NOT made a bid for Luis Boa Morte. When pestered by our reporter in the Portuguese capital, Benfica head coach Fernando Chalana had harsh words regarding the West Ham winger, saying something about not wishing to have a good death at his club.

Meanwhile, the problems are piling up for West Ham United as reports of a "Fire Sale" were fuelled today by the sale of two of their biggest stars, Matthew Etherington and Callum Davenport.

This news will surely come as a blow to manager Gianfranco Zola who only last month claimed that he had been given certain assurances from the board regarding player sales. If other rumours circulating today that Bowyer, Gabbidon and Spector may also soon be sold, and if Nigel Quashie's loan to Birmingham is made permanent, the future indeed looks bleak for the East End club.

And on to cricket news, in the last hour we revealed to you exclusively on Sky Sports News the shocking and breaking news that the ECB have confirmed that England head coach Peter Moores and captain Kevin Pieterson have NOT tendered their resignations.

Stay with us here on Sky Sports News for more breaking news as after the break we bring you exclusives on how Andy Murray has NOT broken his arm, Jonny Wilkinson has NOT miraculously recovered early from injury, Lewis Hamilton does NOT possess a HGV license, Barack Obama has NOT given up his presidency to join the LA Lakers, and the shocking revelation that BBC's Mark Lawrenson can NOT actually see into the future!

Now just to fill up the other 23 hours and 58 minutes of the day ...

Well you say that but my original source at sky sports said the following:

Real Madrid have a deal in place to sign Luis Boa Morte from West Ham United in the January but cannot announce it officially, a newspaper in Spain claims a director of the Spanish giants has revealed.

Pedro Trapote is close to Los Merengues' president Ramon Calderon and he let the agreement slip in a conversation that has been transcribed by El Mundo.

After chasing the Portuguese star last summer, Madrid appeared to have ended their quest with Nani stating that the club would not be trying again because they did not want to make United an enemy.

The furore riled Zola and a fresh round of speculation at a crucial stage in the season is bound to see the Italian exasperated.
Claim

El Mundo report that after Madrid's game against Barcelona, Trapote leaked the news in a chat that was recorded and it is unknown if it was meant to be let out into the public domain.

"If you are asking me what we are going to do now then I would tell you that we have already signed the best player for January," Trapote is quoted as saying.

"Are you talking about Boa Morte?" was the reply.

"The best of the best. It is Luis, there is no other. It is better that we do not say anything at the moment though.

"Why can you not say anything. It is the best time because things are going badly and people need something to excite them in the middle of all this.

Trapote replied: "No, it is best to not say anything because there are some clauses that prevent us from announcing it now.
