I mean holley has done a fair job, but playing people out of position is a worry...henson (greatest inside centre in the world....on form)should be in the centre and bowe at fullback, jon thomas in the back row

Anyone read "Seeing Red" by Alun Carter? If so you will know that this is a bad bad choice for the Ospreys sadface

I can't understand how Joffa didn't get the job myself. The man knows our game inside out!

This is the tale of the tortoise and the hare.

Cardiff Rugby, with Dai Young, making slow but steady upward progress over a number of years. Their team is unloved by many from the Valleys but they continue to get on with the job of creating a professional hardnosed outfit. Now Dai Young is again being sort by Leicester as their chief coach because of his proven track record.

Ospreys, with their glamour puss performers, flatter to deceive and are unable to take on the grind-out-a-result merchants of Munster and Leicester. Because of the 2011 World Cup no SH coach of worth is going to move north so they have appointed a Flash Harry who will get them displaying even more ball skills. However, I very much doubt if he will sort out the lineout or get them winning the hard games.

So, how long is his contract for? Is this an interim appointment until after the WC or do they really think that he is the longterm answer?

The Ospreys have done themselves and more importantly Welsh Rugby a disservice by inviting in the Yanks through the back door.

This is obviously an emotive topic. My view is this: if you look at Scott Johnson's coaching record then he's not really achieved anything that suggests he might bring something new to the Liberty. In my opinion the Ospreys biggest failure is their inablity to make decisions under pressure. The backs don't seem to want to take the ball into contact, they'd much rather throw out a speculative pass and hope that someone's there to take it. Also when they've managed to create an overlap they kick the ball into touch (just look at their last 2 HC performances), it's so infuriating!! Scott Johnson is nothing more than a fat jolly bloke with a penchant for shouting at the crowd and getting his face on the telly.

"The last thing the Os need is this pre madonna onboard."

I know it's bad manners to comment on anyone's spelling, but "pre madonna"?!

What a pathetic decision by Andrew Hore! His treatment of Sean H and Jon H throughout this has been nothing short of shambolic! Why do the Ospreys need an over priced prize clown as their Head Coach/Director of Rugby?!?! If this was the Premier League would you replace a guy who was in the Quarter Final of Europe, Semi-Final FA Cup and top of the league no chance! If Johnson was any good Australia would never have let him go speaks volumes. I feel so sorry for Sean and Jon I hope the pair up sticks and prove how good they are elsewhere, and before anyone starts bleeting at me I am an Ospreys fan but am sickned by this decision and inept Man Management of Hore. I really do hope the Ospreys win something this season just so Sean and Jon can keep some pride.

I'm not entirely convinced by the hiring of SJ, but wish people would at least give him a chance before complaining. Three games as caretaker Wales coach is not enough to judge him by.

In more practical terms, it looks like it's been difficult for the Ospreys to recruit a top (ie big name) coach, precisely because Hore is there as performance director (or whatever his title is). Their best chance of getting a "top" (well, high profile) coach was to find someone who'd worked with Hore previously and got on with him.

I do have reservations about Johnson, but lets just see how the team goes when he turns up.

I don't feel sorry for Holley and Humphries, they've had an opportunity to coach at top level, and if they are good enough I'm sure there will be other head coach jobs in future. It's not as if they've been fired, and I wish people would bear this in mind, especially at a time when so many other people are losing their jobs for no fault of their own.
