Redknapp desperate for players

Tottenham Hotspur

comment on the article

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is set to dip into the transfer market stating that he wants to add "three or four decent players" to,what he described, as a "badly balanced" squad.

Which positions need strengthening? Which players should Redknapp bring in?

No Claire, Harry left you for Spurs, his one ambition in life was to get a chance with a big club, Harry took Defoe to Portsmouth and the player wants to link up with him.

Harry left Portsmouth in a far better position than he picked up Spurs in but then again that doesn't count

I have to disagree with you as well Claire. Portsmouth are better off now than when he took over and he's given you silverware.

As for Defoe...of course a manager is going to take a look at players from his former club - he knows them & their abilities. It's hardly poaching when a) Portsmouth agree to sell & b) you've had him for 12 months, got a few goals from him and made got around double what you paid for him.

Hang on, so when Harry "poaches" Defoe at a snip from spurs, it's fine, but when he "poaches, ha" Defoe back to spurs 12 months later at double the price it's shockingly wrong?! What's that all about! Defoe said when he joined Pompey that he hadn't wanted to leave, but wanted to work with Redknapp again and wanted to play regularly. Now he can achieve all three of those wants!

As Campbell is inexperienced and only on loan it was clear we needed a smaller technically good player to link up with Pav. It should be a good partnership.

Now we just need a DM and LW as priorities. Cover in other positions would be nice, but the above are crucial.

Claire..Harry left a small club to join Spurs.Defoe has been with Harry since he was 15, Defoe wanted away and Portsmouth wanted to sell (at a profit)..its called business.

Dry your eyes and get behind Tony Adams......

Harry will pull a couple of strokes and hopefully he can re-balance the squad.

Bloody Commolli..total complete gooner cast off muppet

He doesn;t mean 'little' players in terms of size, when he says good little players he means players with little bits of skill and a neat and tidy touch (e.g. Ghaly,Taarabt,Boateng etc), but who can't grab a game by the scruff ot the neck, get stick in or dominate and control games. That's clear to anyone who knows anything about football what he means.

As for the comments on squad size: Gomes, Cesar, Alnwick, Corluka, Hutton, Gunter, Woodgate, King, Dawson, Rocha, Assou-Ekotto, Gilberto, Bale, Jenas, Bentley, Lennon, Modric, Zokora, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Boateng, Taarabt, Ghaly, Defoe, Bent, Campbell, Pavyluchenko, Giovanni. That's 28 senior players in the squad. Just cos some of them ain't any good doesn't mean the squad is small. Spare a thought for Everton who have had a bench full of kids (giving 4 of them Premier League debuts) nearly all season, yet are still 6th.

I would like to see another quality central defender come in as well.

Huddlestone should be a stronger player under Rednapp, as the fitness work Ramos undertook with the lad seemed to be bearing fruit.Probably the best "visionary" passer the team has and alongside Modric, they seem to be able to unlock defences.

Also will Spurs try and make Campbell's loan a perm. move?????

itsa sad reflection on redknapp that he will slate the quality and depth of the squad just so he can have a get-out if things go wrong. Hes hindering us in so many ways by these comments but as he is always out for number 1 i guess he doesnt really care. I hope he does well for us and he is a decent manager but its not not hard to see through his thinly-veiled mindgames

You r a fool. You as a Spurs fan has no place to cast opinion on Englands finest team. Shame you weren't relegated last year.
