To everyone outside of Spurs this is laughable...sell a player then buy him back 12 months later for twice as much...poor business...if I was a spurs fan I would be annoyed that people at the club had let this happen. I accept Defoe is a good proven premiership goalscorer but this surely makes a mockery of the fans who pay their money week in week out.

I thought Defoe was a bit out of order in trying to claim his 'loyalty bonus' after not even staying at Pompey for 12 months.

He claims Pompey didn't have to sell him but Jermain, you didn't have to go!

For Pompey is good business.Get more than pay for in 12 months.One question.Do Spurs get money from Portsmouth as well?(when a player plays so many games and moves on etc)?I am sure 'Arry has cooked something!

Why should he? They chose to 'worship' him. I've got an old Nirvana tshirt but I didn't sue the estate of Kurt Cobain when he shot himself.

I hope the poison dwarf repays some of the huge amount of money you have spent on him!

The spuds must have money to burn to waste all that on him. Wait a few months and he will be bitching about being substituted and eyeing up Man Utd or Chelsea.

The thing people are forgetting is the money. although spurs are not paying over 10 mill, will all the money owed for mendes and kaboul, which really has nothing to do with the defoe deal. so those saying pompey only made about 3 mill would be wrong.
