Scottish Premier Inverness CT v Rangers

Live SPL

Another Sunday, another Scottish Premier League game. Well, not quite.

What are the SPL trying to do to us, kicking off a game this early when we should still be in our beds recovering from the night before?

Rangers, though, will be itching to get out there after yesterday's result at Celtic Park.

Last week, it was all doom and gloom among the Light Blues' support after they fell seven points behind Celtic after losing to their Old Firm rivals in a rather dour affair at Ibrox.

Walter Smith's lot would not have given up hope of catching the reigning champions, but they knew they were looking at a long, uphill struggle.

Suddenly, and perhaps unexpectedly, they have the opportunity to make up for some of last week's disappointment thanks to Dundee United.

United yesterday battled back bravely - and by playing some impressive football too - from two goals down to snatch a draw in Glasgow.

Celtic will be hoping that Inverness Caley Thistle prove just as stubborn opponents today.

But, unlike third-tip United, Craig Brewster's side have their own problems.

So much so that the club's own supporters' trust has demanded a change in direction from the board - and hinted that a change of manager might be needed too.

With Hamilton Accies winning and Falkirk drawing yesterday, Caley Thistle sit on their own at the bottom of the table.

Normally, that would heap lots more pressure on Brewster's players, but they can at least go into this game knowing that few expect them to win.

Football can be a funny old game. Anything can happen and often does, but what are your predictions and thoughts?

I always found Inverness a very approaching city. There is usually a hostile atmosphere to southern scots up north, but Inverness isnt included in that *Shrug*

Questions:
Excuse my ignorance here but has Boyd ever scored against Celtic or in Europe or in any big game for that matter? (Not talking about huge cup finals against ghe likes of Queens here..)

Can the peepel admit he is merely a championship player?

Kris Boyd has scored against Celtic once, but as someone on sportsound mentioned, you dont compare for his goals against, but for his goals in total.

How many did van hooijdonk score, or di canio?.

Either way, Boyd can be a league 2 player for all i care, he is bagigng in the goals, top goalscorer in the league, and the best striker in the country. Period.

whoever said caley cannae get players to move north makes an interesting point

teams in remote, unfashionable areas such as caley, ross county and plymouth down south have stuggled before but generally do well

but aberdeen seem to do well in attracting decent players so who knows?

everyone knew rangers were going to win, but in the first half inverness gave us a couple of scary moments, Pedro Mendes' goal has to be goal of the season
