Agree with everyone who think Bridge is a much better player than Ashley Cole. It's not even close.

It still baffles me why so many people (for a start, the managers of both England and Chelsea) who seem to rate Cole. He's not even close to being of international quality and I'd pick Bridge over him every time. And as a Chelsea fan, I'm especially annoyed that Bridge didn't get a fair crack of the whip and has now been sold. The only conclusion one can come to is that there is a clause somewhere in Cole's contract guaranteeing him first team football when fit.

I am a chelsea fan and i would much rather have Ashley Cole over Bridge. I have a lot of respect for bridge as we all remember his famous goal at highbury, the thing about bridge is that he is the most 1 footed player in the world and all you have to do to defend against him is show him onto his right foot. Ashley is the worlds best left back and fully deserves his first team place.

I'm not going to go into whether Birdge is better than Cole - regardless of that, Bridge is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, and him sitting on the Chelsea bench for the last three years has been a travesty, and seriously detrimental to the England team, preventing him from showing good form and challenging for his position there, so I'm hugely glad that he's moved to a team where he can play regularly.

What I don't understand is why Man City offered him 100k a week. I know they have a lot of cash, but surely he would have been happy to accept LESS than he was earning at Chelsea, or at the very most the same amount - I'm sure he's desperate to get some games. It seems like they are just throwing money away.

My concern is that Chelsea will do what they did in the summer when they let SWP go when going for Robinho.

Get rid of a first class player without getting a decent replacement first.

yep im a chelsea fan aswel, and i would also have to say ashley cole over bridge, bridge seems to be half asleep a lot of the time and doesnt seem to have any agression, doesnt seem to want to win when hes playing. Cole is all round a better player, and I'm glad we get Bridge off the pay role, and that we have made that kind of money for him!

'Ashley is the worlds best left back'

Patrice Evra is much better, for me. However, it's odd that there are very few truly amazing left-backs in the world, but the right-back position boasts outstanding talents like Maicon, Sergio Ramos and Daniel Alves.
