Thanks Brekinbauer - you're also someone who speaks common sense and make many valuable points.

Notably, concerning acquisitions, we are in total agreement. We need some experience to complement, not replace, young talent and the areas were we need that I think you have exactly right.

We definitely need a keeper.

We need some midfield steel that will allow the Thornhills and McGugans to unleash their attacking skills.

We need a frontman who has the strength to hold off bullyboy Championship defenders (without giving away needless freekicks).

Who those people might be - I don't know but the next 4 weeks are going to be very interesting as we find out.

Thanks Jedi, couldn't agree more. I don't tend to post here very often, just because the discussion can turn so quickly into shouting and insult, today more than ever. Perhaps there should be threads where the use of capital letters, exclamation marks and the phrase "knows nothing about football" is banned.

BD in my opinion isn't the man. However, I'll back him. The only way is up from here on. He will be judged on results by the fans, not performances at the moment. Yes Jedi you're on the right lines, let's hope BD will identify the shortcomings (many) and...the fans that is keep behind him.

I would have liked Darren Feguson to have been considered for the job...that's if he would've taken it.

I hope BD's first signing is Lee Camp, hes saved us so many points this season during his loan spell. It would be a good starter for BD to really convince the fans.

I also hope BD brings in Steve Howard from Leicester, a big man as well as Hull's centre back Wayne Brown. Maybe Ivan Campo from Ipswich for that holding midfield role? leave Thornhill & MCGugan to pull the strings in attack. Thats who I would be after anyway but as long as whoever BD brings in does the business who cares where theyre from or what their name is.

Good choice. He had a three year plan at Derby, screwed up by over achieving in the first year. I think he will do the business, it would be good to see NF back in the PL.

Quite right ForestJedi, we were never going to get our ideal man in the Forest 'hot seat' such as Martin O'Neill and Stuart Pearce. No doubt there were some more realistic Forest 'old boys' who could have taken the job but experience is what we need, not sentiment.

Billy Davies is our man and we must support him. But we must be warned that this can go horribly wrong.
Billy Davies is now appropriately remembered for taking Derby into the Premiership, but how much time will the Forest faithful give him to turn things around?
Not long I say. Because of his background he will need to turn performances around double quick before the Forest fans remember that Billy Davies is also responsible for the worst Premiership team points ever as the manager of Derby County.
