So, we have "parted company" with Jimmy after 121 days in charge.

What are your thoughts on this?

Who do you want to be the new manager?

I would love to see Eddie Howe do a good job and get the job permanently.

Hopefully this will be an end to us appointing golfing buddies of the Chairman as manager!

Anyone that watched either of our last 2 league matches (or either 1 up front v Blyth Spartans FACup tie) would probably be relieved.

AFCB have had a reputation for years of trying to play football NOT hoof at a loan forward. Pesonally, I'm relieved.

Are Cotterill or Holloway still available?

malky53, the same progress would leave us safe by 3 points, not 10. Not worth the risk with gates falling almost every game.

I seem to remember many STFC folk coming over & saying poor appointment, when you gave Quinn the job..

Altho he got us promotion via the Conference play-offs, we actually ended up 5th that year I believe, umpteen points off top. His style of play was cr ap! LOL.

I'm surprised Suntan/Permatan/'Tindall' hasn't been kicked out as well to be honest.
I can't see any new manager getting us to play worse than we did against Barnet, so I think Quinn's departure was probably the right decision...

I agree that stability is the key to survival. The team needs to know what the plan is. Sadly, Quinn was not giving that stability. Formations and team selections were seemingly decided upon randomly. After playing 3 at the back and the system looking OK, he panicked and reverted to 4 when Cooper was injured. On Sunday he inexplicably played Cooper at right back. The final nails in his coffin were the two substitutions when losing. Take off a striker and a full back and put on .... two full backs. Clearly the guy played for a couple of seasons too long. All that extra heading has obviously taken its toll.

Personnally this is just what we needed - a new local board, we need some stability. Personally I think we are probably doomed to non-league footy anyway before the season kicked off as we are just not getting any breaks including some absolutely appalling referees.
However I shall still watch - I've been a fan since 1962 and for those a bit younger than me won't remember the rubbish we had to endure pre the John Bond era. Also it was bad under one of the worst managers ever for AFCB a certain Trevor Hartley. We are no way playing as bad as we did then. One game we got so bored we started singing the advertising signs round the ground! (We've got Archers pies and pasties on the side etc!)
Give Roachy or Eddie the job - at least they are with the club already. Let Suntan go as he wasn't even a very good player and never knew which end he was playing to!
Let's hope the new board have the interests of AFCB at heart - I never knew why a consortium from the North took us on in the first place at least now we've got a local owner.
Up the cherries!!

Are you trying to say he does this to get paid off?when cambridge got to wembley he played a slow 35yo centre half on the big pitch + left a fast 20 yo center half on the bench, one month after the game the 20yo joined Leicester + has played most div1 games + the 35yo signed for kings lynn, work that one out ,the mans a clueless clown in my eyes.

As a Bournemouth fan I wish we could have kept our Manager longer...Sead O'Driscoll rather than Quinn.

Quinn had to go, he didn't seem to have a clue about how to play football, we were playing hoofball, but leaking goals and therefore leaking fans.

A club in the financial situatin we are in HAD to win against Blyth, so why play one up front.

New Board, New Year, New Manager... New Hope!!!

The truth is that going to watch Bournemouth under Quinn was just so depressing. Non league players like Symes, Tubbs etc., non league football with no width or creativity, playing with 1 striker, how many points have to be made. I have seen us play badly, I have seen us play well and lose, but I have never seen so mind-numbingly boring football as that which we played under Quinn. I have been watching AFCB for over 40 years and this has been a low-point. I would have backed Pulis, even Hartley to produce a better performance from the side than Quinn could produce. He had to go!
Also Baker can now go off and support Chester and be a happy man. Hope he made his money selling next year's season tickets at half-price. Is that his legacy?
Let's get behind the new regime. Sean O Driscoll was an untried surprise choice when he got the job and he's not done too badly. ( Go on Sean, help send Southampton down). Perhaps Eddie can get us to a winning playoff final eventually!
I know keeping Tindall seems strange but He wanted him by all accounts so let's go with it, he's entitled to have who he wants around him, can't be worth than Bondy's choice.
So come on Eddie, Come on Bmth, give us some hope!
