One of the the major manufacturers to quit moto gp for the 2009 season and NOT ONE report on the BBC webstite about this major decision as I write this. Yes the future of Moto gp coverage is really safe with the BBC.....

I am a novice when it comes to the MotoGP but got into it in late 2007 when I had seem some coverage of Toseland and wanted to see how he would do in stepping up from the 250s.

-------------------------

Just to keep you informed, as you are a novice winkeye Toseland is a double World Superbike Champion. He came across from Ten Kate Honda to try his hand at Moto GP, he wasn't promoted through the 250 class.

It's a shame to see another manufacturer drop out...

I've been saying to colleagues for the last few years that MotoGP is dying a death. Not only in the reduced field for the big class, but also the number of bikes fielded in 125 & 250 is noticeable smaller.
I have full praise for Rossi in his WSB comments - though I've never been an avid watcher of WSB, I'd rather see 30+ big class bikes racing for the points. Less than 20 bikes on a grid is a farce.
As for commentary - unless the beeb axe their current crew, including Suzi, and take on board the experienced Eurosport team, I'd rather watch the the tiddly winks world championships. I've had to experience the beeb commentators numerous times, and it bores me to death.

Kawasaki make rubbish road bikes. Why on earth would they think they can make race bikes? In fact Kawasaki are about as rubbish as the BBC coverage of motorcycling.

-----------------------------------------------
Have you ever riden a Kawasaki road bike? Trust me the 10R is far from rubbish (admitedly the old ZX9 and 6Rs were not up to scratch) if you don't believe then take one for a test ride.

Just to prove my point about the BBC and their 'knowledge' of Moto gp, in the the article on the website they say the best Kawasaki did was a second by RDP, well I guess it was my imagination that saw Oliver Jacque come second at Shanghai in the wet and Shinya getting second at Assen after the amazing Hayden/Edwards duel. To the BBC editors of this website, research is a wonderful skill to exhibit.

True about the RDP and Jacque/Nakano bit, but we all acknowledge that James Toselands best result this yr was Philip Island despite it only being 6th place like the other 5 occasions he achieved that, because he diced with rossi for so many laps. Personally, I thought his best result was Jerez, could easily have been a podium if he hadnt had bronchitis.

What??????
The 9r is one of the best bikes ever!!!
I have owned a r1, gixer 10 k5 and a ninja 10 and my 9 is the best of them all. when the ram air gets going it sounds fantastic and the surge is huge, granted it handles like an animal but thats the fun of it!!!
I promise you there is not alot better than the zx9r. ps green ones go faster!!!

'Kawasaki don't make good road bikes', what is he on about. I have an M reg ZZR1100 with 50000 miles on the clock passes the MOT every year no major work ever, toured all over Europe its a real 'super bike'.

Anyway back on topic.... does this mean the BBC get a refund as the MotoGP product is is lacking a major component?.

' Kawasaki don't make good road bikes ' another person who does'nt know what they are talking about, the last 'saki I had was a 2003 Z thou in orange, what a brill bike, I often had to put up with T509 Triumphs having to proove how much superior they thought they were....... not above 8k they were'nt, but in the end as an old git who bought it to replace a nicked CBR6 I tootled around a fair amount of Holland and Germany on it . As to exiting MotoGP, well I don't know if the golden age of consumerism Thatcher style will return but I hope there remains a class for prototype bike racing. It has always been from these classes that really great strides in technology arrive in the public domain.

Even though they were never really on the pace,Kwakers will be missed. This is not good for Moto Gp, it looks like another nail in the coffin,i hope it survives but the black clouds are gathering. On a more positive note, Kwaker pulling out may move James Toesland up the grid, and to the person who is new to Moto Gp,you will always find him at the back of the grid.
