Australia lost a home series after 16 years to South Africa.Well done Proteas. You have capped of a wonderful year where you beat England and Australia away. It doesnt get any bigger than that. Now the icing on the cake would be a white wash with a win @ Sydney. When was the last time australia were white washed at home?

Maybe Varube is giving a back-handed compliment saying that South Africa are totally lacking in luck but, even so, can win 9 series out of 10 and 11 Tests in a year.Imagine what they could do if they had the umpires on their side, as India do!

What u mean to say that victory and defeat of protears is determind by umpires.Think one important thing u can assume SA as NO 1 .But the same team fail to Capitilize(fail to have impact) on important event like World cup,WCT20,Mini world cup. They win Small tournement like 2 nation & triangular series...
Varube, did India reach the Super Eights in the last World Cup? South Africa did. So did England, Ireland and Bangladesh. That would rate India no better than Number 9 in ODIs.

<Bated Breath: "Would be nice if this was posted on the saffie board and not the aussie board ...">~~~~~~~~~~~But then you wouldn't get the sincere conragtulations of most of the Aussie fans, Bated. And I am being sincere in my congrats to all decent SA fans. A well deserved victory and SA deserve the #1 spot. At least for now. Who will challenge them for it? Ind, Eng, Aus, SL?????

Australia have never done better than 10 wins in a year." >then wrote<"To win 16 Tests in a row you need a freak run of good luck with the weather and cooperative opposition too.">~~~~~~~~~~~~So, 11 out of 12 is skill and class, but 16 out of 16 is luck (and even getting help from the opposition)? Riiiight.See my above post, re: congrats. That notwithstanding, when your side has won 16 in a row - twice - AND won 3 WCs in a row, you can start spouting the hoohar like you have.Right now, you CAN boast that you have beaten the Aussies on their home grounds (comprehensively) and you have the best test side in the world.
Why all the moaning about Aus/Ind/SA?I say, the only way to decide the whole quarrel of who is the best is the have a Test series triangular, home and away 5-test series per team between the top 3. A win = 3Draw = 1Loss = 0The team top of the league after their quota of 20 test matches against the respective opponents should settle it.ThnxN
As an Aussie, Natbaal, I am happy enough to say that SA are the top team, atm.I've watched Aus play India and SA over the past 12 months, and India are the 2nd best in my eyes, but I think a lot of this current SA side. Huge potential. Also, Smith has seemed to have grown into the captaincy, and is a much more likable visiting captain than last time (even though he won this time round...). I think that his captaincy skills on the field have improved dramatically, as well.
You know something...jealousy makes u nasty. just give it up for the proteas dude
I fear that the England squad under the idi** Moores will give them 'more positives'. England can't believe that thier win over the Saffers bears any relation to this. They've really raised their team game. Steyn performed with bat and ball and Duminey really confounded the Aussie bowling. They didn't lose it (a contribution maybe) but they were well and truly beaten.
