Not sure how many of these threads you get, but I have to say that Roy Hodgson is in my opinion, one of the best managers around. He's got you lot playing with a great spirit, positivity and speaks about the game very intelligently. From the first time I saw him interviewed last season I though he'd manage to keep you up and I'm glad that he did, it's a credit to the league that in amongst foreign owners and multi millionaire players, a team can do well on the work of a great manager.

Villa Fan IP, best wishes for the rest of the season!

@ The Baffled King

He did manage Blackburn amongst many other clubs around Europe.

Managed: Halmstad, Bristol City, Orebro, Malmo, Neuchatel Xamax, Switzerland, Inter Milan, Blackburn, Inter Milan, Grasshoppers, FC Copenhagen, Udinese, United Arab Emirates, Viking FK, Finland, Fulham

If I remember rightly he got sacked from Blackburn after buying Kevin Davies for an astronomical price only for him to be rubbish, and score about, erm, no goals.

I was a bit dubious when we signed Hodgson last season. But he proved me wrong. And I'm glad he did. From a biassed view, I do think he is one of the best managers in the league. Saved us from relegation. Built a decent defence and got us playing, at times some very good football and his technical ability is fantastic. Long may it continue...

yes the biggest difference...Hodgson sorted out our keeper situ which dire and a worry. I'm not saying Niemi and Keller plus Warner did not do the business but the Aussie Mark is a step up on all. Defence..Hangeland is a huge player for Fulham lose him and we are back to where we were before. Simply speaking we have stopped shipping goals - as we had done for so many years. Now all we need is to actually get some down the other end. This does worry me. However Roy has done amazing work to turn this around and we are all grateful for that.

Hes one of these types of managers who tell it like it is talks honest gets honest hard working players, and makes them into layers who do great things for the team.

It's horses for courses. Roy is the right sort for Fulham, knowledgeable, respectful, shrewd & plays the game the right way within the limitations of his players.

I'm not sure whether we need new strikers, our midfield is providing a lot of goals, I think Roy probably takes a whole team view of where goals are coming from. On this subject, I'm happy with Zamora, but is anyone slightly disappointed with AJ's pace? We don't have that get out long ball that can be useful when under pressure, as on Saturday.

Roy's a class act, he rarely criticizes his players in public, is gracious in defeat and has turned a compentent squad into a good football team.

How he kept them up last year, i'll never know, they looked buried for about 90% of the season.

Done a great job.
