tigerPiranha9 (U9021425) posted Dec 30, 2008 Totally disagree with your point on Ballak, Lampard and Drogba have contributed to 80% of Chelseas goals since Jose took over - By contributed they have either scored or have an assist for 80% which i would say is more vital to their success than Ballak - Also your point about them being equally strong seems unlikely this term as they will be missing two of their most influential players Carvalho (will take time to get back to full fitness) and Essien (Long term Injury)... I should point out i prefer Chelsea to United but Utd seem better placed to take the title this year - esp when Stevie G ends up in the Nick

simply_boro (U10172037) posted Dec 30, 2008 Think some of you Boro fans are not giving your team the credit they deserve. They defended resolutely and if Tuncay's header had been a foot the other way could have had an equaliser. They have performed admirably against Liverpool , Arsenal and now Utd. only Chelsea out of the 'big 4' have really outplayed them. It's the smaller teams that seem to be Boro's nemesis.

nike (U5517649) posted Dec 30, 2008 Middlesbrough did give us a good fight, more so from their keeper. If Man Utd play the same way against the top four next time round, they dont have a chance of retaining the league.

simply_boro (U10172037) posted Dec 30, 2008 no doubt we gave a fight, we had a few spells in the game we looked like we could rob you, but thats what it would have been, robbed....we didnt deserve a point because defensively we were too reliant on our keeper as Riggott stumbled and lost balance on many occasions and it was easy for you guys to pass around, the more i think about it the more the 1-0 actually sugar coates the performance we gave

whatbill (U2084594) posted Dec 30, 2008 United still arn't quite clicking and looked scared of scoring a goal. More improvement is needed if we're to go on and win the league. However, after the World Club Cup, 6 points over christmas is exactly what was required and that has been acheived. Hopefully we can step it up in the new year...

babyfacedassasin2 (U12752495) posted Dec 30, 2008 I think the key word here babyfacedassasin2 is IF. Admmitedly a win would put Utd in a strong position but a draw or defeat would leave them with an uphill task. I would say current form for this one would favour a draw. Comment on this article |
