If I'm going to be honest, I've been less than convinced by Calderwood's performance. To be sure Doughty has kept a tight rein on the finances which can hardly help, but when you see teams like Doncaster and Carlisle effectively competing with Forest when at least financially Forest should be able to bury these teams with the huge attendances that we get. So why don't we ? Is it the manager or the lack of resources being released. I think the problem is that Doughty isn't a football man per se, he supports a football team (ie Forest), but a lot of his footballing decisions warrant closer examination. Paul Hart was close to getting promotion but was denied funds. Prior to Calderwood, Frank and Charly went on a blistering run without any large amounts of cash being injected. They SHOULD have been given the job. I'm not normally a fan of directors of football, but maybe we need one to counteract the lack of direction and sensible decision making in the boardroom. I think it is clear that Doughty is trying to run Forest on the same basis that he runs businesses in his role as a venture capitalist.
If you own a football club you have to put money in and not expect any sort of return.

BUT returning to Calderwood to be fair, he hasn't had a lot of luck, with Earnshaw and Tyson spending a lot of time injured, and the question remains who sacked Calderwood, the board or the crowd.

Although I admired CCs calm under pressure, unless I am mistaken we have not strung together 2 wins in a row this year and if the win at Southampton couldnt kick start us then a change was needed.
All I can say is PLEASE not Roy Keane.
Nigel Clough, Stuart Pearce or even Billy Davies at a stretch but not Keano.

With more time to reflect the decision to sack calderwood looks even more silly than it did on saturday night

Allegedly, Billy Davies had already agreed to take over, back in November. The fact that CC was sacked on Boxing Day would suggest that Billy Davies' Coronation to the CG throne has already been pencilled in. Expect the announcement before the Man City match. A manager needs to be appointed before saturday to take advantage of the January transfer window, whence hopefully the new manager will be given an opportunity to spend.

Platt?? You ARE joking, of course. He cost the club far too much (£15 wasted millions on rubbish players I think), so he could only have the job if HE paid Forest and put a few million in the new players fund as compensation!

Whoever takes over the job will have his work cut out big time. He will need to be absolutely ruthless and get rid of at least 10 players who just do not come up to standard.

He must not care about supports or the players, but must look after Nottingham Forest Football Club.

The board must change, I keep hearing that money is put into the club, but I see no investment only money going one way and that is in to the board room!!

Tony Woodcock with Viv Anderson both Nottingham lads. They would get the support but not the money. Change the board and the only way is up.

Go back 10 years and see what’s come in and what’s gone out. Good teams don’t sell the best players.

listening to radio nottinghams pre-match interview with mark arthur it sounded to me as if brian laws is in the boards thinking.i for one would love to see brian back at the club and i feel he could keep us up and hopefully push on next season.
lawsy would be an infinitely better choice than billy davies and brian would immediately have the backing of the majority of forest fans something i feel davies would never have.

king bobby larson- silly name, silly comments

you clearly are not that bright if all you have to say is 'stop talking wet'. I have probably followed the game longer and certainly have more education! One liners like yours suggest a lack of intellect, sorry to be so blunt- just being honest
