Greavesthatarelean (U10215475) posted Dec 26, 2008 Hear Hear, Morph....I ish more of our lads would stop dreamoing about the world's finest, and drooling over the 'British is Best'...(a horrible catchphrase from the '70s, when the nation was dead on its feet. We need to be very accurate in our transfer dealings. Now that most of the accumulated dross has been swept aay (only Ghaly and Boeteng, if I'm right)....then it should be 2-3 in, 2-3 out....not more. Our squad is not bad (better than last season)...but we need to strengthen 2-3 key positions.-

Luka'sbignoseandwhispyhair (U9038537) posted Dec 26, 2008 Bellamy rumours are the ones that bother me I hate him and what has he done his career not a lot an average player who doesnt even look that fantastic in the current west ham side. All of that said I've not even mentioned the trouble that followsw him around and the injuries. I am not as worried about Downing we have been linked with him before and nothing has happened. As has ben said no one really good becomes available in January

GingerTottenhamFan (U11112584) posted Dec 26, 2008 I totally agree we need a new striker and decent DM but the problem is so do quite a few other teams and there clearly aren't enough available to go round, when you look at Diarra going for £20m that tells you the sort of money that it is going to take to get someone.

Spurssince1960 (U6605059) posted Dec 26, 2008 I think Craig Bellamy would be a great asset to our squad. Yes, he is a little bit of a maverick but with the coaching squad that we have, I'm sure we can get him to settle down. He may not score a lot of goals but let's face it when he's on the ball around the box most defences are panicking and if he scores ten from now on in and assists in another ten, well it's money well spent! For many years we have spent a fortune (more than 10mil) on big name players who just do not do it. At least Harry Redknapp has a level head and pulls in players who normally perform for half the price of the big names. I think Craig Bellamy may just need a father figure like Harry.
