India - England

comment on the article

Morning everyone,

Good news - we're already up and running with today's live text commentary of the final day of the India-England series...

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cri...

Bad news - fog has again delayed the start!

But how do you think it will pan out when play does resume? Is a draw looking inevitable, or is there another twist in the tail?

Do get involved and join the debate. (And a Merry Christmas to all of you at home!)

India did not give a challange as Englnad did in the first test match.
India rather chose to the safe passage to a decided draw.
I was surprised when England declared in first match giving ample time and opportunity and challanged india.
That was a sportsmen spirit.
Not this what India did.
As an cricket lover, India should have had confidance in its team's ability rather than declaring at a time of "impossible mission".
It was a draw when India declared.
The charm of cricket disappered.

kongsberg "I was surprised when England declared in first match giving ample time and opportunity and challanged india." .. I cant help but laugh at your comment!!! 311/9 is the score when England declared... Are you nuts, do you understand cricket??? England didnt win but that doesnt mean you distort things and berate other teams.. Grow up and be sportive in defeat.. India played better and won.Thats it.

"a draw would have been fairer"!? How on earth do you conclude that. India deserved to win 2-0 they simply ran out of time due to the fog etc.

Amusing that the bbc report says England team finished with "credit" after finally managing to draw 1 single test or 1 dayer after losing 5-0 in the one dayers and 1-0 in the test series.

''India did not give a challenge as England did in the first test match''

No but they still won the game and in the end that’s all what matters...not how you win. Eng should stop fooling themselves with talks of great team spirit and all that. They lost 5-0 in 1 days and 1-0 in Test and in my books that’s a battering from a team that’s just better than the Eng team. Stop talking and start playing some proper cricket.

How can England team forget a 1-0 test series loss to India on English soil last year. Spirit of game is important and ultimate, but you cant hide your weakness and keep giving excuses. KP, Flintoff, Broad aside rest of the English team is a 'B' class team. Hope Sidebottom joins the team soon.

Take out Sehwag's second inning from Chennai England would have fairly taken the series 1-0. You could say India were brilliant to win on the back of Sehwag cameo or you could equally well say England were inept to lose at Chennai i.e. they snatched defeat frm the jaws of victory. I do not believe any positive result was within the reach of either team at Mohali. That so even if India were 0-1 down coming to Mohali. Simple.
Its time for self-analysis, not blame games. Let us not blame the captains. They were both outstanding, one was luckier.

To be honest I was expecting 1-0 or a tied series. I don't think India are at all deserving of the "best side in the world" tag they've been given recently. In my opinion India and England are quite equally matched.
India are allways a fair bet to win any home series but could they win a series in Australia? Could they win in South Africa?
I doubt it. They were extemely fourtunate to win in England last time out, as they were extremely fortunate in this one where if England had batted just a tad more positively they would have at least tied the series.

Are you serious? This is how the Tests are decided? Why do not you recommend to take out Strauss Innings in the First Test and KP's Inning in Second Test to see if England could have won.
