How will Woods come back?

Masters
comment on the article

Tiger Woods has begun hitting golf balls again but admits he is still unable to give his driver the full treatment.

He is obviously keen to return for the Masters (if anything to stop Padraig Harrington on his march to a "Tiger Slam") but progress appears slow and he will not want to rush things this time around.

His knee clearly wasn't fit going into the US Open, and though he won in spectacular fashion, he then had to go under the knife and spend half the year on the sidelines.

If he is going to play in the Masters, he would probably like a competitive tournament or two under his belt first.

So when do you reckon Woods will be back? And will the new Tiger be as good as the old one?

Ernie Els has not been the same since knee surgery, but then the Big Easy is no Tiger. I think we'll see major number 15 before 2009 is out.

If he was really that injured he would have pulled out earlier to be honest i think that it makes him look better and has a fall back excuse if he loses

How will he come back?

In blaze of glory, as a herald of angels announce his return to the sound of a thousand trumpets, a heavenly chorus will strike up songs of hallelujah (not the X Factor one!!), and from a shaft of dazzling light Tiger will step forward to banish the thoughts of a Tiger-less tour. The creatures of the world will flock to this place, not understanding why but with an internal urge as strong as that of fish returning upstream to their birthing places. The beer will flow like wine, beautiful women will instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. Warring factions will down their weapons and greet each other with the hugs of long-lost brothers. Dog will cease to chase cat, Rangers and celtic fans will agree that no-one really cares about the Old Firm, George W Bush will put together a coherent sentence. A thousand laureates will each write a thousand verses and not even touch on the majesty of the moment. Atlantis will rise from the murky depths of Poseidon's bosom.

Alternatively he could come back for a few tournaments with a week or two off between each one for further recuperation before he starts to show any real sign of the form that we all know he's capable of. Pick up a win and then attack 2010 with renewed viguor.

But what do i know, i'm not a physician so i'm just taking a stab in the dark like everyone else biggrin

It's currently off the Moray Coast, but ol' Poseidon sure like's to shift around his domain so it's hard to keep up with on a day-to-day basis
