Who should Bolton buy in January?

Premier League Bolton Wanderers
comment on the article

Bolton's impressive form in recent weeks has seen Wanderers rocket up the Premier League table.

But what does that mean for the January transfer window?

Will boss Gary Megson be able to strengthen his squad and, if so, what areas need attention and who should he sign? Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard is one of the names being mentioned, but then he has been linked with half the Premier League hasn't he...

Or are you Bolton fans more concerned that the impressive form of the likes of Matty Taylor and Gary Cahill will see other clubs swoop for your stars?

Fabrice Muamba has been linked with a move to Portsmouth and, of course, Sam Allardyce is back in football at Blackburn. Will he be raiding the Reebok to bring some of his old favourites to Ewood Park?

What I'd like to know from you is
1) Who your ideal signings would be?
2) Who you would like to hang on to?
3) Who you would like to see leave?

I look forward to hearing from you...

dear mr wanderers forever. thank you for the RE lesson. will certainly go away and think about what you said but its much too clever for me.

i have no problem with debate i have posted in them myself. i think the way that celtics asked the question was disrespectful that is all and was put in a very imature way. he was only doing his job.

happy christmas

Come on Mr Megson - you can do it! (U13714047)

i think the way that celtics asked the question was disrespectful that is all and was put in a very imature way.

And your answer was....

celtics you really are a little twerp. time to grow up a bit and come back when your ready for a sensible post. the guy asked a question thats all. at least it wasnt about dropping one of our best players

hmm.. Very respectful and mature here then !

As for sensible posts re:Davies I agree with what WanderersForever *MEGSON OUT* (U9631580)
says....

Celtics post about dropping Davies was perfectly valid in that it was thought provoking and inspired a debate about the relative merits of keeping Davies in the side or dropping him, which is the whole purpose of this forum.

How can a suggestion be dismissed without ever being tried ?

Have a nice day

Thanks for all your suggestions folks. We're putting together a feature ahead of January looking at what each Premier League team is aiming to do in January, that's why I have started similar threads with Wigan, Man Utd and Man City too.

Apologies to celtics-wanderer21 *walking in a winter wandererland* for any offence caused. I did look at as many of the previous threads on the same subject, but wanted to start a new one - the idea being it would get more responses.

Thanks again for your help though everybody - all good stuff - and have a good Christmas.

I must say, if we don't bolster our squad over January then i will be petrified of relegation, we need signings that will fit in immediately as key fixtures come up around Jan-march.

Based on my judgment at Wigan, i feel that Bolton need a creative midfielder, we don't have anybody to play through. I would hope that Simon Vukcevic will be signed, we have a solid defensive base, but we need to put all of our eggs into one basket and splash the cash on Jimmy Bullard or Simon Vukcevic.

Ideally we cannot do without our captain Kevin Nolan and without Matty Taylor. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin Davies leave, but that wouldn't be bad, our play will become less direct, allowing Elmander to prosper, and also allowing Smolarek to partner with Elmander, something they have done before. this should hopefully get us the goals we need to stay up this season and approach the EUFA cup spots
