Ecclestone should retire now!

Bernie Ecclestone has made several poor calls in his career. The choice of Indianapolis as a Formula 1 track stands out as a major flamer and his recent obsession with night racing isn't much better. As the de facto head of F1 however, we do expect some knowledge of the sport, so when he appears on TV and tells us that the reason there is a dearth of overtaking in F1 has nothing to do with the tracks or the cars, he is displaying a level of palpable ignorance that is simply unacceptable for a man in his position. Any real F1 fan knows that tracks like Monaco, Hungaroring and Singapore offer very little opportunity for overtaking, and modern F1 cars, unlike those of Jim Clark's era, are ground effects cars whose stability are grossly impaired when they follow a competitor too closely. The last two seasons have been fabulously exciting and the points system should be left alone."If it aint broke, don't fix it!" Time for Bernie to go - he has lost it!

Bernie needs to go... but i've been saying that to friends for years.

Revert the points system back to what it was. Revert the qualifying system back to what it was. Get rid of the stupid "use both types of tyre" rule.

Bernie has to go, he is changing the rules every year and the medals idea is absolute rubbish.

Leave the sport as it is.

Virtually everyone agrees that he should go but the truth is he has control over the rights and I expect we have as much chance of getting rid of him as there is of getting rid of Mugabe without military intervention. And putting it in perspective at least the F1 fans arent dying of Cholera.

I agree that he has done things for the sport over many years but the obsession of the rights owners with making as much money as is possible is up there with the hedge fund managers for suicidal tendencies. Yes some countries in the Middle East can afford these races but its a whim for them, the real fan base is in Europe and I suspect the prestige will drop as the European races go. That in turn will drop the prestige for the remaining races and those currently being fleeced will pull out.

I think the greed will catch up with them eventually and once Bernie is gone there wont be any historic hold over teams who will hopefully form their own circus.

Time that F1 divorced itself from bonkers Bernie, and time that Mosley was whipped into shape blush

Bernie and Max have done alot for F1 over the years and got very rich in the process. But gradually they are both loosing the plot. They constantly talk about money in the sport and cutting costs but they still continue to take the same out themselves. China have recently pulled out of F1 due to the amount they have to pay to stage a race, Canada has been scrapped in favour of another race in Aisa (no doubt because they can afford to pay more to stage the race).

It is definately time for both to go and get someone in who really does care about the sport more than their own bank accounts.

Time for Max and Bernie to retire before they really start to embarass themselves as well as F1. Unlike Bruce Forsyth, "They are doddery! doddery THEY ARE!!!!

Perhaps with a purported divorce in the offing, BE will have to sell out to pay her off.
Great news if it's true.
I'm all for improving the safety of the sport but regs on tyres is ridiculous.
Good to see the return of slicks but why run two types of tyre.

It's amazing what old age can do you you these days. Ecclestone and Molesey have both lost the plot.

Mosley was a lousy driver and also an arrogant and lousy administrator. Bernie is mad about money and little else matters. Time for them both to fade away like two rusty old bangers. Mad Max should go now IMHO. Bernie should listen to the Teams during his last year so that he won't be laughed at when he is booted out. Night racing? How long will that last? Proper Team F-1 with Teams deciding driver positions if they need to. Medal positions? Absolute rubbish! Stewards decisions made public. F-1 at Silverstone.

Bye bye Bernie. Mince off Max.
