England may have been totally crushed by this run chase but then England should be praiased for their effort and willingness to tour India....Kudos for the English cricket team.Though they were given presidential kind of security, the fear was still there.Yet this brave team arrived here and set an example.ICC should make a note of this and should start giving a memento to such efforts by giving English team a special trophy/memento..At least they can give the English team some points in ICC test ranking for showing the sportsmanship by agreeing to play here..!!Cricket is the ultimate winner!!

Kudos to England for their efforts!! I hope this sets a precedence for England and other countries to tour Pakistan now which has also been a victim of terrorism. Surely now they won't be setting up double standards.

i am an Indian and i truly enjoyed the win, which came as a fresh breeze and compassion after what happened nu Mumbai.

this test will go down in history as a remarkable one not just for it's result, but it is also for the England team came back after blasts. i would like to thank each and every cricketer and English man for doing this.

in 1947, you gave us hindhustan (India) by partitioning it. otherwise, there would have been bomb blasts every weekend. and now, you gave us some kind of compassion by risking your team. Thanks you all.

Wow !!!It was sad that no one complimented and congratulated Kevin Pietersen and the English team and the England Cricket Board and their spectators who had come back. They just could have made excuses after they were drubbed 5-0, sulked and not come back after seeing the gory images on TV and after their kit was still in the Taj. You might all say that they were eyeing contracts in the IPL. Life is more important than money. Hats off to England for restoring our psyche to normal levels. Why haven't the BCCI given a fat purse to them also and also to the foreigners who died during the carnage?? Aren't they also human beings - doesn't matter if they are rich or not??? It would send a positive image of India to the entire world?? and you all can expect more foreign tourists also coming in due to that gesture..Hear that the foreigners have refused compensation because it is too low??? Hear that the govt is giving free tickets and accomodation for tourists who come for the 3rd time. What about the 1st and 2nd time??? Don't we know that 12 % of India's GDP revenues come from tourism?? What about other business and other contracts and concerts that have been affected ?? What about fear psychosis????

On day 4, KP just assumed that he had a good lead (300+), and wanted to kill time so that the Indians won't have too many overs left to score. That explains the slow run rate.

Now, that was not a bad strategy given the highest successful chase has been in 200's. Don't blame KP for that.

What went wrong for England that no one expected, including the Indians, was the Sehwag blitz. That is one of the odd things that you don't count in your calculations.

So, I wouldn't be too critical of England. Once Indians sensed a kill, they used their resources wisely. A lead of 400 or even 425 wouldn't have mattered just like a lead of 387 or 350 wouldn't have mattered without Sehwag's "crazy" inning.

I'm sure KP and the rest of the teams will be ultra conservative from now on when playing against this Indian team as it knows no fear. The older guys play traditional and panic, but not the new ones (Example: Sri Lanka - last test and ODI series).

lol talk about making excuses for the pathetic last days performance.

How many teams would have toured our country in such a situation. We should be glad that england did.And all I mean is such efforts have ensured cricket is the only winner.England deserves the praise.
-----------------------
If that is the case then shouldn't India tour Pakistan???

Are you crazy??As Sachin said cricket is lesser than what has happened here. The Indian citizens are sure, that the government will take the correct decision whenever it will involve Pakistan..Let things betqween India and Pakistan be resolved diplomatically.Cricket is being played normally with other countries.

Are you joking? Anyone who knows anything about cricket would have been aware that Sehwag was capable of batting any total into oblivion! If England weren't expecting it then they are more foolish than I thought.

The Pakistanis took all the trouble to come to India to kill the Indians (and the others). Now, you are asking the Indians to forget everything, go there, play cricket, and get butchered?

The India - Pakistan equation is different. India is not involved in terrorism. India doesn't send its citizens all over the world to kill innocent people. India' military and the intelligence wing are not mixed with the terrorists. So, please don't compare pakistan's case with India's.

2 months ago, in Bangalore, Australia challenged India to make 298 runs in about 80 overs. Sehwag was present, and he was out for 6. No one criticized Australia as India didn't win. Had the same Sehwag / Gambhir combination scored 117 runs in 20 odd overs and made India win (or close to it), KP would have noticed it, and not taken the chance.

It is totally unfair to blame him for taking a bold step in trying to win as opposed to being a risk-averse like the Indians have been under the old leaderships.

There are many who thought he delayed the declaration too long, I'm not sure what was attacking about that.

BTW, didn't Sehwag score a triple ton in Madras once?
