India - England

comment on the article

Morning everyone,

I'm in the chair again for the live text commentary on the final day of the first Test between India and England.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cri...

In the words of Jonathan Agnew, "You could not wish for a more enticing final day than what is on offer in Chennai".

But what do you think - how will the day turn out?

Do get involved and join the debate.

India can play without Dravid so they can pick a 5th bowler. India didn't miss him although he was in the squad for the last 2 years doing nothing.

How will Yuvraj and Harbjahan speak to Monty on the field

Yuvi and Bhajji speak only Punjabi - Monty only speaks English and that too with a british accent -

Ravi shastri always speaks to Yuvi and Bhajji in Hindi/Punjabi not english

There is no such thing as a "British Accent". Monty has an English accent with a slight Luton twang.

I presume this will in effect be a four-day test as both sides have refused to either start 30 mins early each day or allow the use of floodlights...this is despite the known fact that bad light nearly always ends play at 4pm each day apparently.....who cares about the fans eh ?!

Yeah I agree, one handed shots are never advisable in test cricket. smiley

So, yet again it's jobs for the boys in the England top 6, with no place for Shah who is both in form and has a technique well-suited to the conditions. No doubt Ian Bell will make a doughty 70 when the pressure is off and secure his place for another year.

It seems as if Pietersen's bold instincts have been tempered by listening too closely to the 'lads in the dressing room' (or perhaps the 'mediocre overpromoted coach in the dressing room'). Still, good luck to them all.

I hope this game is as good as chennai. I am disappointed that both teams agreed not to use flood light during badlight conditions rejecting request from local cricket club. Chandigarh is know for its early foggy morning.
Anyway what is final team looks like for India and England?
