Good start for England with the ball. Swann two wickets in his first over off test match cricket !!! Not bad !!! If this doesnt give him confidence to take more wickets then nothing well, hope he keeps it tight and puts pressure on these Indian batmens.

Also Matt Prior digging in with a 50. Dont think anyone doubted his batting, but now he has to show what he has with the gloves, and dont drop any catches !!! that would be a good start...

Fortune favours the brave. England deserves appreciation for thier bold determination to play Test cricket. It seems Indians were not mentally ready to play this test match. Then how comes the fab 4 less 1 has not even scored a 50? Time and again Yuvraj has proved that he is a Test Burden. Tiger becoming a Tom Cat in Test match? Will Harbhajan, Zaheer score 50 runs each and give some respect to Indias Ist innings? Matt prior,Swann and to some extent Flintoff share the days honour.

Guys,i am sure that india will definately score less then 230 tom ,,but england mite have a definate lead of around 75 or 10 ,20 runs more, but england must not be over confidence as their second innings will be very poor, they have to score atleast 300+ and a lead of 350 and more or else i think india can win this test match ,never be over confidence, all the best the the 2 team , may the good side win

Yuvraj has given it to England many many times in One-dayers and t20s. For a change it was England's turn today. Its still heavily loaded in Yuvraj's favour though. The last time Flintoff did that to Yuvi, Yuvi made him pay by hitting broad for 6 sixes.

PontingisaSaint - Yuvarj and Harbhajan were found partying until early morning in their Pakistan tour with their Karachi friends - next day Yuvraj was out first ball and India lost - south indian cricketers are more disciplined and stay in the room midnights
- Harbhajan also talks a lot - yesterday after three wickets Harbhajan already criticized England - Yuvraj is not a Test batsman and he eats to much roti dal, which makes people indolent and dull - too much roti and dal does that

why can't M. Vijay play instead of Yuvraj in Tests - Dhoni politics - India will likely lose this Test - south Indian cricketers are intellectuals

don't have a clue what roti dal is (apologies for my ignorance) but i do know one thing, it's not over yet.

dhoni leads by example, is in great form and has fighting spirit and harhbajan can throw the willow at the bat and could kock up a quick 50.

however, hats off to england, they've showed grit and determination and bowled brilliantly as a unit.

my alarm's getting set for 3.45, a few hours kip then 8 hours of einticing cricket, canny wait...

talos1977 - I pardon your ignorance in advance - Indians cricketers are complacent not for the first time - they have millions of dollars deposited in their bank accounts and have no care whatsoever about responsibility - they threw away a good chance to stay put in the crease and play - I can accept Sehwag's failure - he can't score always - Yuvraj selection is a known blunder - Indian selectors are fooled with his ODI performances and induct him into Tests - Yuvraj is too lazy for 5 day sports

Dravid should gracefully quite cricket now - M. Vijay and Rohit Sharma should come in instead - Dhoni should be told by his vice-captain that new ball must be taken against tailenders - Dhoni argues that the ball was reversing and hence he did not take the new ball - but he was persisting with Harbhajan and Yuvraj not Ishant and Zaheer to justify his logic - Kumble does the same mistake - when a tailender defies 5 overs of spin then a pace bowler must be brought in - comonsense

Roti-Dal is a problem even for thinking

As an expat down under i get to watch the test at a civilised hour, what a great bowling performance. Lets hope the fellas can clean them up quickly and get what will surely be a memorable test win in India. Something the Aussies failed to do recently.

@Fair and Balanced.
After your constant roti-dal rant, no Indian would even be willing to argue with you.
The kind of hatred u spread will really endear u to the terrorists hell bent on breaking the country.
That u do this on a british site is even more disgusting.
As for M-VIjay.
He got selected only cos he comes from the same school as Srikantth.
The guy is talented but he was preferred over many other better performing youngsters simply cos Srikantth became chairman.
His talent doesnt mean nepotism should be ignored.
Yuvraj had to play after the kind of innings he played in the odis, the likes no one in the history of India had played before, leave alone north or south.
If he doesnt perform, Badrinath( yeah..another TN guy but not a hatred monger like u) should play and not Vijay. Vijay should get a look in only after Badri and Pujara.
Also, Vijay is still untested. He has played mainly in the South zone which anyways is much weaker than west and north. So we'll have to see him perform at a decent level first.

PontingisGod - we tamilians are more patriotic than your presned arrogance of being whoever you are - Roti Dal is a funny expression in banter - you first shut up and get commonsense - before you get consumed by your assumed importance

also it is below my dignity to pick up a one-one with you
