I'm in 6th form supported Villa all my life, but that for me beats any footballing moment as a Villa fan i've hard in my life so far, even better than the 5-1 against Blues, simply from being that completly gutted to the complete happiness of winning, GET IN!!

What a game, although we really didn't deserve to win that one. But it is those sorts of wins that get you into Europe. I am still catching my breath after this game.

Well. I'd just like to thank dragoneyes106 for his comment, I appreciate that my earlier comment could have annoyed some everton fans, it wasn't intentional, I just wanted to point out some of the people who wrote in earlier with rather useless comments just trying to bait Villa fans into an argument. I feel that it's a tad childish, but yourself and numerous other Everton fans on this discussion board have been more than dignified, so to you thankyou and we'll see you in April. May the best team win on that occassion.

And just to answer to diamondvilla, I'm not negative, and I do spend my time and money every week getting behind the Villa, travelling from Leicester every week as well, I feel I'm entitled to my opinion, and if you read what I said it isn't negative, I was simply making a point that we now have to build on results like this cause that's how we'll break the top 4, which of course is what I want us to do, I wouldn't be much of a fan if I didn't hope for the best. I don't want to argue with a fellow fan, but I'd just suggest that next time you read what's been written, before calling someone up on their support for the team.

the good villan: The point I was making was that some Villa fans were saying that the amount of extra time added was purely down to Lescott's over celebration. Now if that is the case a player running the entire length of the pitch and then getting pounced on by his players also wasted more than 12 seconds. Therefore some parity would of been nice. However, what we must remember is that the board held up is "a minimum", and our players should of been concentrating for the full length of time, and it is our own fault for conceding such a late goal.

I try to offer a realistic and balanced view point to Everton as a club and the games they play. Unfortunately if some fans don't do the same to their own teams it is sometimes worth pointing that out to them.

The one major issue most fans and commentators have is refereeing inconsistencies. If a referee is useless, but is consistently useless for both teams then he has at least been a fair but useless ref, However when a ref books a player for persistent fouling (Fellaini)but then doesn't to another (Sidwell) that is when people start moaning about matches etc..... BTW that was the view of Andy Grey during his match commentary and not necessarily mine.

Lets just all thank both teams for a great game and if the away team gets a 3-2 win in April we can be thankful.

No offense mate but the amount of villa fans coming on are boards saying they deserved the victory, saying all we did was hoof the ball up and that we never threatened use after the 1st 15mins was riduclous so if any evertonians came on your boards baiting villa fans, i dont condone it but why shouldnt they?

Point taken bluenose. Point taken. I guess it's all part of the banter that makes football so enjoyable.

dragoneyes.

when lescott scored, the ref stopped his watch on 92.06 minutes, meaning from the moment that villa kicked off, there was at least 54 seconds left to play, whether we kicked off on 93 minutes or 99 minutes, doesn't matter how long the celebration took,it could have taken 7 minutes, but the ref would still have only played 54 seconds.

now when ashley young scored, there was 15 seconds left on the clock.again,it doesn't matter how long the celebration took,he could have drove all the way to brum and back, taking 2 hours, the ref was only ever going to allow 15 seconds of play from the kick off.

so that point doesn't work.

now, admittedly, you have a very strong point regarding sidwell not getting booked.

no arguments there.

anyways, hard luck sunday.it means nothing to you now,but yes,you definitely deserved at least a point out of the match, but that's football for you and that's why we all love the game....or sometimes hate it.

all the best for the rest of the season and we'll see you all at villa park next april....ok.

I have to admit as a Villa fan i am biased to say villa deserve to get 3 points however Everton did put up a fight and i must say deserve at least a point for the fight. However while they had lots of opportunity many of these were of target. they also did 2 silly mistakes and almost handed A.young his goals. Villa had less chances but they did get all of there few on target and didn't have the same mistakes. Everton did the same thing in that game as villa did against boro and we lost points then and you lost points now. It was a good game and i am looking forward to seeing what will happen in the next fixture

the good villan: My apologise, i did not realise you had such a good relationship with Martin Atkinson, that he has actually told you he stopped his watch on 92:06. However unlike American Football the clock doesn't stop instead it is added on at the end. During Lescott's celebration the clock keeps going and then during Young's celebration the clock also keeps ticking.

Now i know all of this makes absolutely no difference and even if Mr Atkinson (Martin to you obviously) had added the extra minute we were unlikely to score.

As you say hard luck and see you in April.

BTW say hello to Mr Atkinson when you next speak to him.

As an Evertonian I was absolutely gutted with the result. But credit where it's due, Villa played great counter attacking football and won the game well. I think that's why Villa's away record is much better than their home - just like ours.

We dominated for much of the game, as you would expect at home, but Young is a class act. And remember, he is ENGLISH! We should be grateful that Everton and Villa have a lot of English talent and long may it continue!

As a biased fan, I still think we will finish higher than the Villians though winkeye

dragoneyes...

i don't have to know a referee personally to know the laws of the game.

i was going by what time i saw the goals being scored, which is exactly what the ref would have been doing...

even dermot gallagher explained it in very plain english afterwards.

the clock may not stop but the referee is trained to take into account, what time the goal is scored at and then add it on at the end of injury time.

why is this so hard for you to understand.

the referee knew lescott had scored with one minute left.

so,all he has to do is add on one minute from the kick off, irrispective of any celebrations that lescott enjoyed in front of the villa fans...erm.....are you keeping up with me.

now, when young scored,he knew there was only around 15 seconds left.

doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out how much time is then to be added on.....does it..??

well,by the looks of things, maybe a scouse brain surgeon.

but hopefully, now, you can now see,you don't have to be friends with the said referee to understand that....just have a basic knowledge of the rules of the game....doh.
