Manny Vs Floyd?

Welter

Ok, very quick one this. I know that everyone's going to be a little over excited after last night's sensational win for Manny Pacquiao, but for those who watched the fight (and being as objective as you can), who do see winning a match up between Manny and FMJ should he venture out of retirement?

Vote 5*s for Manny and 1* for Floyd.

As an aside, I'd be interested in people's reasons for their respective predictions. I mean, to play devil's advocate for both sides here, did Manny just beat a washed-up weight-drained ODLH? Or would Manny dominate FMJ who "only just scraped" a split decision against the same guy only 18 months ago?

Also, does anyone have a good link of the fight? Peace all :)

PS: Oh, and yes, I called the fight completely arse-about-face and had Oscar TKOing Manny around round 8 - just didn't think that Manny, despite how good he is, could do it. And whilst I expected Oscar to win, I am so glad that Manny did. In my mind Oscar saw this as an easy (ok, easier) way to make massive money by taking on a smaller guy whilst simultaneously avoiding people like Margarito. I'm glad it all backfired on him and I hope he now retires.

I don't dislike the guy per se, just think this whole match-up was a little cynical. He's made a legacy for himself and should get out now. As far as Manny goes; massive respect to the man who is now surely the undisputed P4P No1.

Crikey, that 'PS' was longer than my main point...

MP vs FMJ is the obvious match up it makes boxing sense, commercial sense and would be a great epic encounter.
RH would be no match for MP, i like RH very much but he is a limited fighter who would get seriosuly hurt against MP who is a ferocious competitor when he gets going.

I would rather see RH vs ODH at Wembley, at welterweight that would be a great fight both great boxing icons for there countries, i'll be going for sure,

Hatton doesn't stand a chance against manny he will get outclassed just as he was against PBF. I think it would be a good fight to watch but the result is inevitable. I would rather see Mayweather tempted out of retirement for the match of the decade "Pacman v PBF, however because of Hattons pulling power I think the business men will go for Pacman v Hatton, under the tag who is the best pound 4 pound fighter in the world!

I'd love to see Hatton fight Pacquiao. Both fighters have similar styles and won't spend too much time going backwards, so it should make for a cracker of a fight.

If it happens i'm sure you'll see a more savvy Hatton.

Before the Mayweather fight Hatton had been doing the same things wrong for a long time and i am confident he now knows he can't make those mistakes against the big boys if he wants to win.

Against Malignaggi - Hatton started to show some of the old skills, but he stopped boxing too quickly when he realised Paulie couldn't hurt him and reverted to chasing him around the ring thumping him.
Not that i was complaining mind as i throughly enjoyed watching Malignaggi getting as many knuckle sandwiches as he could stomach.

Hatton will win, i have faith!

It seems there are plenty Mayweather fans out there. Ok maybe i'm alone, but i doubt it, in thinking Mayweather was protected by the ref when he fought Hatton.

I'm not saying Hatton is a more gifted fighter than Mayweather but i still beleive Hatton is gifted and on his day has the style, work ethic, ability and heart to beat anyone.

The ref kept Mayweather safe from a 'roughhousing' Hatton and forced Ricky to fight Floyds fight. The favouratism was boarderline Ottke in proportions.

Manny will destroy Hatton next year if they fight. His fitness , boxing skill, and speed is in a different league, and the pacman will really love it if they fight at light-welterweight where he can be deadly! Ricky hatton will look like ricky fatton like he did against mayweather jnr.

Handy-legend...nice post. I think not.

So many Hatton haters out there who have nothing good to say about a great fighter. We'll see who wins. Like i said, i'm confident Hatton will win.

Hatton is the undisputed 140lb Champion, deservedly.

His only loss is to retired P4P king FMJ, when he stepped up to Welterweight.

The only natural fight now is Pacquiao-Hatton, with the winner hopefully tempting FMJ out of retirement for one last hurrah.

Dude trust me I HOPE Hatton will win, but I KNOW Pacman is a more gifted fighter. I am a big fan of Hatton but he has to stop letting himself go in between bouts- he does look really fat and chubby 3months before a fight. Having studied in Manchester I know the night life is great- but that lifestyle don't set you up in the ring very well....... Hatton is a very likeable guy- but manny is a machine and will box him off the ring.

All hats off to Pacman. Manny or Marquez definately take the p4p crown. He will also KO Hatton but no where near in the same fashion as he did to golden boy. Hatton has a strong chin but Pacman has a stronger chin and punches harder.

He would also beat Mayweather in my opinion; he hasnt fought such a speedy pressure fighter lyk Pacman. But i think Mayweather feels his battled with the greatest and has nuffin to prove or achieve so has lost the passion to compete(meaning i dnt think he is purposly ducking any1!!)

But I think anuva fight with Marquez is due and shuld happen next year sumtym

*1 for PBF

PBF will KILL the Pacman in 5. It will be like watching Bowe Vs Hide all over again.
