Lets all play in Abu Dhabi

International Tests England

They've offered to host the tests. Security is mentally good in Abu Dhabi. Compare this with the concerns some will have at traveling to the country with the second most terrorist-related incidents in the world.

Judging by trends, the stadiums in India won't be well attended anyway so there will be no great loss. All fans will get to see cricket on tv with a much reduced threat of terrorism.

This will be the safe option in the short-term and will address the legitimate concerns of travelling Englishmen.

BCCI will get the same amount of money from it all and surely thats everything that matters covered?

The matches should be in India, or not at all. Let's not compromise on this, or the terrorists have won!

Why not just cancel all cricket everywhere. After all the terrorists have already struck in Englan and who knows if there next target will be Au or SA or anywhere else.

Let's not just leave our hosues in the morning - in case there is a terrorist waiting around the corner!

UK, you're right, just because there has been a recent terrorist outbreak in India doesn't mean the players are any safer over here for example. People have short memories.

I get the feeling the ECB are going to ok the Indian venues, playing in Abu Dhabi is a non starter as the BCCI won't but it...although of course we all know they can afford to!

I must have missed the Bin Laden speach where he declared the aim of Jihad was to move test matches from India to Abu Dhabi. Maybe that is what its all been about, a conspiracy by the rich Sheiks to get all cricket played in their stadia.
Or maybe moving matches if/when theres real and genuine concern for the safety of the players would be a sensible thing to do. Who knows.
Besides which I think a lot fo the concern hasnt been about the terrorists per se..more elements of the Indian and Pakistani governments threatening to Nuke each other.
In this case its looking increasingly like the security situation makes the slim risks to the safety of players and spectators and acceptable risk. The games will go ahead in India, good.

I can see why some England fans would want to play in Abu Dhabi....

It's raining cats and dogs, so England might be able to draw one of the Tests through a rain washout.

Hmmm...

I would've thought safety was a bigger priority tbh. Most England fans would rather see England lose than their team take security away from ordinary indian citizens or have something happen to the England team itself.

I can't get the thought out of the back of my mind that these individual players are making this decision for money alone.

They can't say "no" now and then say "yes" when the big money games come around.

Had the version of 20/20 never been invented I really couldn't see any of these players leaving home.

Or maybe I'm just being to cynical headhurts
