dribbles_ (U7404905) posted Dec 5, 2008 I feel really sorry for James - one of the few footballers who actually seems like a thoroughly decent and intelligent bloke - he even writes for The Observer! So talented but as we all know prone to total howlers. Pity

HE IS PROBABLY ONE OF THOSE JERKS WHO SUPPORTS A TEAM NOBODY HAS HEARD OF AND WHO DONT HAVE A 606 BOARD OF THEIR OWN. STILL NEVER MIND HE WILL BE ON HIS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS SOON

RainerFromHamburg (U7799347) posted Dec 5, 2008 Now back from Wolfsburg I have to say that Pompey showed a disappointing performance overall. Their support was fantastic and in good voice but the team simply canīt show the same enthusiasm on the pitch. What really surprised me was the slow tempo in the Portsmouth game. The "Wolves" - as they are called in Germany - really seemed to play a bit faster. The Pompey defence is below average at the moment. Sol Campbell has been a classy defender but his time is up now. Just look at the first goal. With or without him: Pompey concede too many cheap goals. And how many blunders from Calamity-James can the supporters still tolerate? It is nice to save a penalty but the second goal from Wolves was unnecessary. No words about the third. Plus-points in the starting line-up: Defoe (but hardly any support for him upfront) and Belhadj (quick and ambitious). The rest: silence. An uninspired midfield (Kranjcar!) without creativity (Davis the worst of all) and lethargic full-backs (Johnson), the subs almost invisible (Crouch, Kanu). Sorry to say but the Pompey supporters deserved a better quality from their side and more courage given the starting position with a must-win. Even some of the Wolfsburg supporters were a bit disappointed with the display of their guests. But Portsmouth might qualify again for Europe via the FA-Cup and could do better next time. My greeting to all Pompey supporters with which I had a couple of drinks in a greek taverna in Wolfsburg!

dufunk (U1645187) posted Dec 5, 2008 I aint scottish! My point was the top4 dominate europe but outside of that most english side struggle alittle in the uefa cup which makes me think they would have no chance in champions league, At least Rangers made the final of uefa cup not bad for a pub team from scotland!! posted Dec 5, 2008 UEFA Cup is different competition, anyone can beat anyone,
