Thought we were absolute pants. These games should be a chance for us to gain confidence and get some of our fringe players playing.
Instead we play mostly first teamers and still struggle.

Don't know what Jenas was doing for there first goal! Pathetic defending.
Soft penalty and a lucky second that should have been saved.

So many warward passes as well, it had me staring in disbelief.

Why can't we pass the ball around, keep possesion and make the opposition chase? Instead we play a scrappy game, pass the ball a couple of times, then punt it up the pitch.

It was Woody and Jenas covering Prisker on that goal shot.
Should never have allowed it.

Yes Woody made a mistake, but Jenas was even worse out in front of the move. Look at the replays. Overall Woody was one of our best ... doesn't say much I admit. The whole performance was Chumpeenship level.

Corluka was very dependable throughout. He does get crossed signals with Lennon down that left side. Arry will have to sort that.

I see nobody has mentioned Lennon who I thought was excellent. Faded a bit late on but otherwise good. Pav's first touch was poor and he's slow but maybe he's still tired this season and getting used to the PL. I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt for a while.

BAE had a decent game. Not much to defend against but played well and even Zokora didn't look out of place against a CC side. Did make me laugh though when he ran the length of the pitch to play a back pass.

Finally, I'll swear that TedDitchburn2 doesn't watch the game or doesn't understand it at all. Or maybe he just has a chip on his shoulder about JJ.

These sort of comments are so irritating. Every week there's someone saying someone should be sold, without thought, in January because they underperformed in one match. The fact that we have a tiny squad at the moment and need all the players we can get. Jamie O'Hara, in this respect, is a vital squad player for us, while Dawson provides cover for a defense that without him would only contain 3 out and out centre backs. We need to keep these players until the end of the season and then re-evaluate, selling one or two players for sensible prices, without actively seeking to sell them (which, as seen under Ramos, destabillises the club. Then we should sign 3-4 good players who, after careful thought and deliberation (so not signing two cup tied players on the last day of the window for wildly inflated prices)are judged to improve the overall quality of the squad.

ted - your comments just go to show how people get blinded by their dis-like for players (eg Jenas). Woodgate and Jenas were just as much at fault as each other, and if Corluka hadn't have been out of position, Watford may not have had a chance anyway. Corluka also got caught of position on other occasions too.

As for Jenas, I thought he had a decent game. He closed down well and tracked back, got forward well, won the penalty and was involved in the build-up to the winner.

On another note, I thought Ekotto had another good game, and Daws impressed again too. I am aware that that will go against the general consensus that they're both shite.

SpursGirl. You always know what you're going to get with Daws. Total commitment and effort but a lack of footballing skills. He's a good, dependable squad player, but that's all.

I was disappointed with WFC's display if I'm honest. At 1-1, with 25 to go, Rodgers should have brought on O'Toole and Hoskins and gone for it - what did we have to lose?
As it was, Bent then scored and he then made the changes, but it was too late and we were never going to get back into it.
Just seemed a bit negative to me, but Spurs were good value for the win and could have had more goals.

It couldn't be said that Spurs were bright as buttons for this tie but they came away with the win. If this was a boxing contest Watford would have been beaten by the narrowest of margins. Spurs weren't superior on the night but came away with the spoils.

Spurs were disappointing on the whole. Pavluychenko missed a sitter hitting the bar, Jenas and Woodgate were responsible for the Watford goal, Lennon turns his back on free kicks, and Lennon and O'Hara can't cross incisively into the box without overhitting their crosses. I cannot understand why Jenas and Zokora don't make more runs into the box like they sometimes do because they do have the capacity to do so.

Is it just me that thinks gomez has regained confidence. He has made no mistakes in the last two games. He came out once against watford from a corner but punched it away.
Your forgettin that this cup means alot to watford and they where at home hyped up ready for the upset.
