Manchester City 0 - 0 PSGby citeh4me (U13662201) 03 December 2008
very poor City, these players are paid too much money, the don't seem to care, no passion what so ever. Sturridge yet again played well I think and is definite player for the future, but vassell and hamann, surely enough is enough, both had their day time to move on. Dunne looking solid again which is great news. at least we didn't lose, had PSG played their main strikers from the outset we would of lost! still not sure about hughes, the players are not seeming to listen to his instructions, accept for short periods of time at the start of each half! frustrating, but the benefit is we didn't lose and with lots of players out still hanging in there! halfwheeler (U8117903) posted Dec 3, 2008 I thought it was an interesting spectacle. PSG are a good side despite the pre-game hype the commentators were spewing. They came with a game plan to sit back and catch us on the break and we snuffed it out, largely thanks to our back four who were all great. In fact the team was great, right up to the forwards who couldn't hit the proverbial cows bum - or pick their noses, never mind pick the correct run. Sturridge has the excuse of maybe trying too hard, the rest are just elsewhere in their heads. Hopefully after christmas they will be elsewhere in the world.

armchairblue (U7826022) posted Dec 3, 2008 Oh come on, don't join in the instant success rubbish that the press vomit out. For the last few games, City haven't bombed forward leaving themselves open at the back, so this has to go down as a cautious patient display, which is another learning exercise (remember Arsenal in the Champions League early years? They were naive and went out) We didn't need to win for a start, and I thought the patient play was excellent. Yes it's boring if you paid your money for goals, but as a side that hits others on the break, City had to settle for roles reversed. I accept the criticisms of Jo and Elano, speaking as someone who has been patient with them (and let's face it, to be a City fan you HAVE to be patient), but apart from that it was the tactics once again. In other words, apart from the odd aimless cross, City expected to play through the middle in this game, and the last game against Utd and the game before that - predictable. Ireland and Kompany were joint men of the match for me tonight and we missed Shaunie desperately as he is the playmaker for Stevie Ireland.

aggersforcaptain (U12740115) posted Dec 4, 2008 The two Brazilian lads looked totally devoid of confidence and didn't really put much of a shift in. The 19 year old Sturrdge showed better movement than any of the other forwards used and Ireland as always gave it everything. Never thought I'd say this but Ben Haim had a good night to but without natural width City looked lost. His team mates don't know what Vassel is going to do because he doesn't know himself most of the time. I hope when the signings are made they are not at the expense of players such as Sturride and Hart, these lads are the future of the Club.

fear the reaper (U7794387) posted Dec 4, 2008 Another defeat for City at the weekend and we could find ourselves 4th from the bottom on Monday night, its a situation Mark Hughe will surely not relish because his job is under threat now.I have no sympathy with him whatsover because his team selections, tactics and motivation are wide open to debate, in essence he is CLUELESS that much so he could be a 'PLANT' I'll leave it at that,Garry Cook and our new owners have to sort this mess out now before its too late.

KnottyAshCity (U13686525) posted Dec 4, 2008 Out of the players I saw on the pitch last night I think should be heading out in the transfer window; Evans, Elano, Hamann and Vassell-and if Jo doesn't improve he should be shown the door come the end of the season. We need players with consistency and commitment if we are to step up a level. These players have had plenty of opportunities to prove themselves and are not up to the task. Stick with Sparky, he will weed out the wheat from the chaff and bring in real quality to the side. Comment on this article
