Your problem has been, and will continue to be a chronic lack of finance whoever gets the managers job.

Given the current situation (an unpaid?) Jim Smith is probably on the cards for the rest of the season.

I am glad he is gone, he is a great guy but not a great manager. I bleive that Oxfrod could still achieve promotion this season if we buy in Jan and get a decent manager in. We are only 9 points from the play-offs!

I see a couple of calls on here for Roy Keane. Wow! The dream ticket: Roy Keane and Big Jim Smith...

Martin Kweon anyone?

I agree, I think we need a manager who the players fear.
Life has been easy under Patto.
We are going to need a manager who can bring in cheap loan players to replace the heartless bunch we have now so he will have to have contacts within the Football League.
MICK WADSWORTH available after a spell in Scotland would knock them in to shape and be able to bring in players.

Why don't you get Andy King and Maurice Malpas as your management team?

As my missus says he's been kicked off some TV show, that means Timmy Mallett's available.

I think they're right in looking for a manager who has escaped this division before, doesn't have to be a big name (would be nice for moral/spirits etc) but someone who has dragged a team into the football league by their scruffs is the kinda guy we need!

First off, a big thank you to Darren. A top man, if only some of the players you signed had been as committed to the club as you.

Our main criteria are contradictory. We need an experienced non-league manger, but also someone who understands the pressures of a ‘big’ club. Can’t think of many non-league (or recently non-league) clubs who have a fan base the size of ours.

Those running the club have taken a real gamble in raising expectations for the remainder of the season. Aside from the financial limitations, the long-term continuity argument of gradually bringing through youngsters will not wash. This left with Patterson.

For the new manger it is the Playoffs or bust.
