I actually think Chelsea made a good buy in Anelka. Saying Chelsea are “behind in strikers” to the rest of the top four kind of misses the point that Anelka is top goal scorer. I don’t like Anelka, or Chelsea particularly, but I’d have Anelka over Van Persie, Agbonlahor, Tevez or Kuyt.

Chelsea’s problem is that they overkill in one area – you don’t have any magical players in the middle to conjure up a bit of flair. Ballack and Lampard are just thumpers, and Deco only performs occasionally. Malouda is terrible, you ditched SWP – the only technically gifted player you have left in the midfield is Joe Cole, and your gaffer seems estranged to him.

It’s not like Chelsea ever really get going against top sides anyway. You normally play to keep ‘em out. Sadly for you, this doesn’t seem to be working this season. You will still be up there, and probably should still be favourite in the long term, but there is something still very stale and negative about Chelsea’s game I thought would be shaken off with Scolari, but he seems a bit confused too.

It just shows that all the money in the world can’t buy you a team, just expensive players who seem to do nothing but whinge about their salaries or moan about wanting to leave.

Just a few things to add to this, just cos the gunners beat us two one there not in a position to tell us what we need etc. 2ndly i thought arsenal got lucky, at one nil couldnt see them scoring then they got a lucky break firstly with the their equaliser being clearly offside, a complete joke of a decision by the lino there. then a ball drops to van persies feet sumhow there 2-1 up.but at the end of the day whilst arsenal wer lucky we got what we deserved.
theres too many chelsea fans defending the likes of mikel, malouda, deco, ballack, a.cole,kalou at the end of the day these players are not pulling their wieght, i wouldnt even say john terry is playing well at all, anelka yet again showed how poor he really is against the better teams.the only real positive we can take from that game was the performance of BRANISLAV INVANOVIC, i thought he was tremendous, he tackled firmly and fairly and did a good job.

whilst its easy to critisise after that performance and result, i dont see ne danger from arsenal coming our way.
our run in now till the man united game on january the 14th is easy very easy. cant see us dropping any points, get drogba back, and i expect to see big performances from them all over the next few weeks. BOLTON uve been warned. oh yeah AND COME ON WEST HAM!i wuldnt swap anelka for van persie, he'll b injured for ten games now

we still miss essiens drive from midifield, cos mikel hasnt got that about him.
we deserve slating after this result, but lets b realistic who would rule it out us getting results at man united n arsenal n anfield i for one would not!
