Ronaldo

Manchester United
comment on the article

Are there any other Utd fans like me who is infuriated with him. Yes, he may be the best player in the world but the arrogant side of him must annoy the hell out of even the most loyal Utd fans.

Today he clapped the ref. I would have given him another yellow just then and sent him off.

Then he handled the ball.

He stands there when a decision doesnt go his way instead of getting back to position.

If youy could combine SWP's enthusiasm and character with Ronaldo's ability, you would have the perfect player.

ps. what on earth was giggs doing passing the ball to rooney with an open goal. He surely saw the keeper was nowhere. I think he was afraid that his 40 year old legs couldnt strike the ball that far. We cant continue to carry Giggs.

A free kick would have delt with it far better than giving Ronaldo a yellow for his handball... yes its a handball... if it were defending a corner then it should have been a yellow and a penalty, but he was attacking... he already gave away a chance for himself or someone else to get on the end of the corner.. gaining no advantage... and he clearly didnt try to score from the handball.
I agree entirely with Red Robbo... although I havnt watched a replay to see if there was a noise... although there is always whistling going on at footie matches... but regardless of weather he heard a whistle or not, no advantage was gained from it... so a free kick is all that should have been given.
How anyone can say it is 'unsporting behaviour' is beyond me... there is absolutely no reason he would have deliberately knocked the ball away with his hands if he didnt think play had stopped... he clearly isnt a 'premadonna' though... Roma? bullet header? anyone?

Huh, Yellow for a defender but not the attacker?

Jeez talk about one sided.

Why dont you just book them for playing against Man Utd and be done with it

What I find funny is the number of excuses Ferguson was trying to make. Blame the crowd, the whistle, the push, the ref, the ball going too near his precious face, etc. Come on. It was deliberate handball and the ref (rightly or wrongly) gave him a second yellow and sent him off. But does Ferguson consider that it might possibly be Ronaldo's fault? No! I know the fact that Ronaldo should have been sent off earlier doesn't play a part in the actual decision but I think he deserved the red card.

----------------

Somehow doubt he would have stuck up for him if they hadn't have got 3 points

its pathetic making excuses, it was a plain and simple handball for a stupid mistake. There is no other reason. you cant say u thort the whisle went or ball to hand etc etc etc. He didnt want to ruin his face anymore with a ball shape. Bottom line is that he is a big girl that likes playing netball, ha ha.

Thats exactly it, the only time it should be yellow is if either player tries to gain an advantage by the handball (whether its either the defender or the attacker), but it means nothing now anyway, whats done is done and we will move on.

You see children do what ronaldo did in football games all the time. They just forget themselves and they instinctively put a hand out to touch/catch the ball. Often they'll do it in training whenever they know a football can't be headed and they want to stop it flying past onto a road or off the field of play. Like any habit the more they do consciously the more they'll do it unconsciously

Manchester United did lose a player, but they never lost a man in the match vs. City

errr yes a booking for a defender but not an attacker... obviously if the striker was trying to gain an advantage trying to score or anything like that then it should be a yellow... but not for a clear mistake gaining no advantage. However if it were defending a corner, by deliberately using your hands, even if it were a mistake, you would be gaining an advantage for your team because you are preventing a goal scoring opportunity for the opposition players around you.
Also... i'm not even a Utd fan, so i'm not sure how you figure i'm being biased in any way?
