Falcons started the game the better with Danny Williams finishing a well executed move from the lineout. Wasps were awarded a penalty thanks to some fine work from the pack which Walder kicked to make the score 7-3. Wasps were poor under the highball from kick off which gave Newcastle a a penealty which stretched Falcons lead to 10-3. Dave Walder Kicked 4 more penalties to make the score 15-10 at half time. Falcons started the brighter after rory Clegg showed some 'Spencer sence' to chip the ball across his own 22 for some great counter attacking rugby by Newcastle resulting in a Converted Try for Tom May. The game remained dull and patchy after that the highlight being williamsons being sent to the bin, but some good graft by the Wasps pack saw bishey score. Overall a dull match but Wasps may have found a solution at 15 in Mitchell, Eoin Reddan played well and hugo ellis showed promise. Steve jones and rory clegg and Tom Visser played well for Newcastle

I thought it was a poor match, but Wasps should be encouraged because they won without playing particularly well. Yeah, "it's only Newcastle", but a few weeks ago Wasps would have lost that one. Plus they've got their international players (Payne, Vickery, Haskell, Rees, Shaw, Cipriani, Flutey and Sackey)!! all to come back. I actually think Wasps will go on and win the Guiness Premiership this season, it's just what they do!

I don't get to watch much GP rugby, so I'm glad to hear you say that this match was unusual for its dullness. I caught most of the second half and found it unbelievibly tedious. Obviously conditions were less than ideal, but neither side displayed the faintest glimmer of imagination on attack, much of the foward effort seemed half-hearted and the outstanding personality of the day was, unfortunatly, the referee.
Dross.

It was a very frustrating game to watch, all of the posession but no try until the last 5 mins. Mitchell had a good game, our front three worked ok, Charlie Beech scored in his GP debut, and the lineout was good.

BUT we never looked like we could get over the try line and MVG is not a centre

Get better soon to Pat Barnard who was taken to hospital, hopefully as just a precaution

The game was not dire, we had a lot of aimless kicking in the second half, but the Falcons 3/4's impressed me, I am sad that they lost. Impressed with their tackling and breakdown work for most of the game, Clegg showed some great skill. Pity they ran out of steam when they conceded the try.

I thought they were stiff. Poor discipline - and Walder's boot - cost them unfortunately. A couple of beautifully taken tries showed Wasps how to do it. For all their territory and possession, Wasps were dreadful in attack. First time I've seen Clegg. He's going to be class.

Two struggling teams but a win is everything particularly when playing with a virtual 2nd team. I thought our (Wasps) forwards dominated but made silly errors at crucial times.

Good tries by Newcastle but Gizzie is not a centre and cannot defend.
Clegg and Ellis ones for the future.

I think top 4 is probably out of reach but the England players returning will have a lot to prove so.....

Glad to see the boys finally got the win, didnt see them yesterday, but i saw them against Sale. It was a poor game but we didnt deserve to loose, we just couldnt take our chances at least we got a try.

Glad to hear Mitchell play well at 15 again, he was excellent againest Sale apart from some wayward kicking at the end...

Only worry will become a great player, qualify for England they will intervene and he will never come back the same..hmmm remind you of anyone playing at 12 at the moment??
