More than likely that will be the most important win we'll have all season. Not pretty but we did what we had to do in this situation. We found a way to win.
It seems Zola has finally figured out that Behrami and Faubert are midfielders, not defenders, although I'm not sure if Faubert has his spot locked up but surely Behrami has. I don't know any stats for it but it seemed to me that we created more chances out of midfield than we have done all season.
As for the defence they held rock solid right through, giving Sunderland little chance and Rob was there for when they did get in.
All in all WH supporters have to be happy with this.

Given today's performance, Sunderland are already grooming themselves for life in the Championship. They have adopted the old Watford style of booting the ball aimlessly into the penalty area, and hoping....
Problems have been compounded by dreadful signings during the pre-season, such as Ferdinand, Malbranque, Chimbonda and Cisse. The latter is far more concerned as to how much of a prat he can look than caring about his football skills.

Great win. Long overdue. We didn't get what we deserved against Hull, Boro and Everton. Unlike in recent games fancied us to get the all important second goal on the break. I know we have a pretty awful record at Anfield but hey why can't we get a point there ?. Keep our concentration, be neat and tidy at the back and you never know. Boro were unlucky to lose, Stoke and Fulham have held out for creditable points there so its not impossible. Keep the faith and we might just get something there.

I am happy for Zola, it was suicidal for him to take over a club in financial crisis, after the season had started, and with no experience. I hope he gets a fair crack at it, we need more people like him in football.

I must admit, I haven't been watching WH much this season besides MOTD, can someone tell me what's wrong with Bellamy, he isn't scoring as much as he used to?

Happy with the win. Happy the defence kept a clean sheet and gave Green some cover. I have to say still worried. I'm not convinced we're good enough to avoid a relegation battle and I'm not so sure all is 'well' within the team. The financial issues/uncertainty need to be put to bed.

A good 3 points second clean sheet on the trot and good defensive play under pressure although Sunderland were poor in the final third.

Re Man from Milan
Craig works hard but just looks like he's lacking a little sharpness at the moment.
Take the one on one with the keeper yesterday compared to his goal earlier in the season against Blackburn when one on one with Robinson he absolutely nailed it. A goal or two and he'll be firing again.Bring it on Craig !

Watched on Sky in Germany yesterday. Was as nervewracking 94(!) minutes as I can remember. A fine defensive display for sure yielding a much needed result. I'm not sure I like seeing the opposition being invited to come on so much but thankfully Sunderland were bereft of any ideas other than to hoof the ball into the box. I thought everybody played their part well, including Faubert & Cole who another writer has earmarked for sale. Cole particularly held the ball up well and battled away for the (94!) minutes. As for Bellamy, I thought yesterday he was just trying to too hard. The committment is there though and thats good to see. We got away with the penalty possibilities but it should serve as a warning to the defenders who are often guilty of conceding way too many needless free kicks in and around the goal. Neill has been a culprit for this. Yesterday apart we have often conceded at set pieces so the smart move is to reduce the risk.Easy for me to say though. With the fixtures coming up, whilst not abandoning all hope of a freak result the Spurs game has to be the first "6 pointer" of the season and likely the only chance of 3 points out of the next 9. London clubs certainly don't have it easy do they? Needing to get points from derby games to win titles or even survive. Still, 'twas ever thus.C'mon you Irons!
