Villa draw, Man Utd get over yourself

Premier League Aston Villa

It's interesting reading the articles this morning - alot of media point out that Man Utd were unlucky not to win at Villa Park..? Sorry, but were we watching he same match last night? United were very lucky they got away with A POINT! Villa had most of the chances and if the ref had ANY idea he would've laughed at Ronaldo every time he took a dive instead of giving him charity free kicks in front of goal and awarded the penalty (OR AT LEAST a free kick just outside the box) that was rightly Gabby Agbonlahor's after Vidic practically rugby tackled him in the square!

Very poor officiating. But in saying that, Villa didn't help themselves with sub-standard finishing. James Milner was a standout for me - a great future for that one.

Aston Villa OWN fourth position. UP THE VILLA.

Ronaldo was disgusting last night. He should have got a yellow the first time he dived, then been sent off the second time. The ref just let play go on until about the ninth time he dived and SAF brought him off. He should be banned from the game along with Vidic. As for the disallowed penalty, well that's just Fergie's rules isn't it.

even the commentators said united controlled the game start to finish, but you hung on for a point

If you look at shots, corners and shots on target I think you will see who dominated the game, Villa. Yes, fair enough, Man U were in control for the majority of the first half, but the second half was Arsenal all over again. You were lucky we didn't get a penalty.

The game was fairly even. Rooney had a golden opportunity that hour squandered. Park had an opportunity that Young aborted and Ronald had a shot saved. Young had a shot saved, Villa failed to finish off a Milner pass in to the 6 yard box.

But the one incident that should have defined where the 3 points were going was the Vidic foul on Agbonlahor as he had the opportunity to square the ball for a tap in.

Man U were not held by Villa.

"Villa showed no intention of going on to win the game" Some of us were actually at the game and cannot buy this rhubarb! So taking off a midfielder and adding a centre forward does not count as "an intention to win"?
YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Bstarvillaboy how could you forget ronaldos ONE and only decent effort?

We played the system we felt best suited the game for us and we had the better chances to win it. A few more players - world class hopefully - and we'll be more deadly and spank the man ure in future!

As a neutral i will weigh in........

Utd had a off game yesterday, not much going forward and had a few scary moments but Villa never really looked like scoring. I would say it was a even game yesterday. Villa tried to get forward and thumped the ball in the box at any opportunity, more hope than not.

Utd edged first half and Villa made the running in the 2nd!!!!!

Sorted????

lostirishguy, I'd go with that.

We didn't deserve to win the game, but nor did United. A draw is a fair result, but in the laws of the game, we should have had at least a free kick on the edge along with Vidic sent-off. Then we could well have nicked it.

Atmosphere was class though lads and for those who were in the Holte, congratulations.

If we scored there would have been a riot.
