To start with im not a reading or a southampton fan i was at the game having got tickets from a friend at work. however i was disappointed at the lack of support from the reading fans. throughout the whole game the 3,500 fans from saints outsung a crowd of over 23,000 less than a 6th of the amount of fans there. even before the match it sounded to me as if there was only 1 set of fans there. the only time you ever made much noise was for the 5 minutes after your goal, and then it sounded like a very intimidating atmosphere. You need to support your team, and become the 12th man, in contrast i thought the saints fans sung for almost all of the game, and were very loud and supportive of there team.

Plenty of people will criticise this but I completely agree with you. Far too many fans just sit in silence - especially when we're losing rather than getting behind the team.

I have to agree ... a poor performance again from the No 13 Fans. The band sounded quiet too .. short of a drummer? Well i did my bit to 'back the boys' Cmon URZ!!!!

I agree totally. The team were outplayed and it happens, this is a tight league as we all know. But there is no excuse for the fans not to get behind the team. I did try in the centre of the east stand but fans around did not want to know. They were just waiting for a goal to kickstart them into action. We (the fans) must improve. Come on you Royals

Likewise, I sit in Y22 on the top row and it was really depressingly quiet, the only noise was when we scored and when our own fans kept having a go at our players when they made a mistake!!

I can't help but agree. I was sat in Y19, and the noise from the Saint's fans was impressive. We've not seen that many away fans so far this season, and they certainly made sure we knew they were there.

The only noise coming from around me were the boos and shouts at our players when things weren't going well.

All in all I'd like to forget about yesterday. The crowd usually puts in a good (I won't say great) performance, but only when the team plays well. Yesterday there was little to get excited about. Still the fans should make some noise and give encouragement.

It'll be the reverse at St Mary's.

It's such a dull topic, endless times the away support at games will make more noise than the home fans for all sorts of reasons.

We did it at Ashton Gate, we'll do it at Loftus Road.

It's just football.
