I agree with hungry69. I was at the Chelsea game yesterday and you couldn't fault the committment of the players under JK, we just lack quality. A decent creative midfielder would help knit the side together, get the passes flowing and help us keep possession (Elano?). I have to say I'm VERY concerned about Owen. He was utterly hopeless yesterday. He's got a few goals for us over the last 3 years but his touch is appalling and even Shola looked more threatening than him yesterday. I think we should get rid of him in January and buy someone who contributes more to the team.

Given the circumstances that he arrived under I'd say Joe has done briliantly. One thing he has done, through his straight talking and honesty, is get the fans behind him, Newcastle fans aren't evil, we understand the extremely difficult position Joe was put in and although It was still a surprising choice he's got pretty much all fans behind him now. He's been extremelt unlucky in a couple of games, Wigan scoring last minute, Fulham winning when we were clearly the best team and an amazing battling performance against Chelsea? Long term manager? Probably not,but I wouldn't mind if he was at least we know we have someone who seems to understand the geordie fans what expectations we have, a team playing for the shirt giving their all week in week out. If and when he does leave, Newcastle fans will be extremely grateful for the job he has done and hope it's put him in the shop window for a decent job somewhere else. As I say, I'd be happy to keep him, it's sometimes the least unexpected things that end up working out. Well done Joe mate.

My wife is an avid Newcastle fan even though she has never been to St James's Park! She is completely taken with JFK and what he has achieved/is achieving. He appears to be getting the team to work and battle for each other as a unit. The guy is obviously hungry for the job and this will rub off on the players. Good luck to you and remember you are most peoples second favourite team. Sympathise with me as I am a Leeds fan!

JFK has been nothing but honest... with the players, fans, chairman, media. He is certainly putting in a lot of hardwork.

Good luck Joe.

Choppersx, it's you blowin it outyarass buddy, at least 42,000 fans don't visit this blog and you in your sheer wisdom assume you know it all. We pretty much all think very highly of JK and what he's done to steady the ship. Our defence is famous for it's collander features for years, but now he's got them working for each other even though some are useless. Jack Fearless mate, Duff is very Duff and despite spasmodic glimpses of his Blackburn wing-runs, he will only deteriorate from here on. Zog is streets ahead on natural talent and can only improve with games. The only real mom this season is Spiderman, whom I hope is not getting sick of being hauled off every game. Yes I say flog Owen, but only with a decent younger, fitter striker all ready to sign. I love the man but his situation is too big of an unknown, with regard to his fitness and loyalty, which incidentally he owes us in buckets full. For now though you mischievous outsider jerks, Joe is O.K.

I think JFK has done a brilliant job since he arrived. He's done exactly what was required by telling the gutter press where to go, closing ranks and teaching the players some fighting spirit.

We've had a bit of bad luck (Wigan at home & Fulham away) but the fans appreciate the effort everyone is putting into the cause. We're not out of the woods yet - not by a long shot. But if we keep going the way we have done since JFK arrived then we'll be ok.

One thing I've noticed of late is that less fellow Mags are clamouring for KK or Shearer to take over. A good thing in my view as neither is the right man for the job.

If Mike Ashley gets rid of (un)Wise, gives JFK some money for the January transfer window & holds his hands up, admits his mistake & apologises to the fans, I'm sure he'd be welcomed back.

We don't hate him for trying to do what he did. We don't like him for being so arrogant when it went wrong.

Oh by the way, I still don't trust Ashley, and he's got JK doing what KK refused .... being a buffer/smokescreen between him and the fans. Sadly, many belly-worshipping, weak-willed Geordies are drifting back into buying Ashley's beer and pies. Playing right into his low opinion of us and fans perse i.e. we'll all give in eventually. What price that he has no intention of selling the club? I shudder to think that some of our best players will be sold to buy Joe's hit-list, especially Zog who for reasons known only to JK has played very little this season. Perhaps to keep him fresh and fit for January, same as Owen?

joe is a hardliner - been through the grit and the s**t - he ought to be at the club longer than originally scheduled keep craking joe - a positive reminder for the ageists out there

I'm happy with JK but once again pi**ed off with Ashley.

Surely the credit crisis is putting of potential buyers?

a
Kinnear is doing fair job under the circumstances.

JK is doing a god job for us but i would like Ashley to come out and tell us how the sale of the club is going.
The credit crunch could be a major factor but also Ashley asking price could have put buyer's off. We have been given two differnt dates when the club will be sold, both gone and still no statement from Ashley. IMO i think he will keep the club and JK will become our full time manager with Weasel calling the shots behind the scene | complain about this comment

A) Joe Kinnear is doing a great job, FAR BETTER THAN KK WAS DOING.

B) Dennis Wise' signings have been very very good.

C) Newcastle's fantastic fans have brought on MOST of the problems themselves apart from Ashleys ridiculous decision to hire KK.
