International games, bad for us?

Championship Reading

After another defeat following International games it leads me to wonder, do International games disrupt our team too much?

Today we lost our unbeaten home record not to a team like Birmingham or Wolves but to Southampton!

Is it a case of jet lag? I dunno all our respective players going off to represent their country, most often regarding our Irish players.

Considering the majority of our creative play comes from the Irish players, them going off during for International games can't help us.

Or were we just rubbish today? Haven't been able to catch a Reading game since I came to uni

Well done Southampton, you deserved your win today. Played us off the park first half but faded in the second. Has you whole season been like that?

Thanks mate. It has very much so mate, however the difference is we didn't make any sloppy and rather naive errors today, for a change.

Out of interest, couldn't help but notice your crowd seemed a little subdued today? Not a dig, but is it always like that or was it simply the fact that you guys didn't play all that well?

We are indeed the "Saints" and you are a "Prick" - had to quote.
Just one question if you are Uni - why are you sat at your computer like a geek instead of down the pub ????
Before you ask i am an old git and it is snowing outside so i am allowed to be sad and sit in with a bottle of rum smiley

Wow you caught me, i'm a geek, guess what? I don't care, I love to play computer games, my course at uni is Computer Games Programming and I have Asperger's Syndrome which makes me even more of a social outcast, anything else you wish to know?

All I know is i'm being slated for expecting Reading (3rd and unbeaten before the game) to beat Southampton (near the relegation zone with a rubbish away record before the game).

Not really anything wrong with that is there? Nothing wrong with confidence when supporting your team?

Why bother resorting to insults anyway, you don't know me how do you even know i'm a "prick", I haven't insulted anyone, just being truthful about how I feel about the game, if i'd been able to see it I might have a different opinion but I wasn't going to make a 5hr round trip.

I'm sure we had the same away record as you do, or am I wrong?

I never said we had a good away record

All i have to go on is your comments and from them i can fairly accurately deduce that you are indeed a "Prick".
And perhaps by belittling other clubs you may find that you do indeed insult other people.
I do hope i haven't insulted you but merely been truthful about how you appear.

well perhaps I have come across that way but i'm simply stating my belief that we should beat Southampton at home, i've had a similar belief for the majority of our home games since we've started so brightly at home.

As for our away form, most games i'll be happy for a draw

'All I know is i'm being slated for expecting Reading (3rd and unbeaten before the game) to beat Southampton (near the relegation zone with a rubbish away record before the game).'

Firstly, you were only unbeaten at home before the game. I would hardly call our away record 'rubbish', considering we have won the second most games on the road this season (rates higher than you.)

If you want to look down on other teams like you have done that's fine with me, just don't expect to get promoted with that kind of complacency.

Look, when I said you had a poor away form I just assumed that, normally the reason a team is near the bottom is because their away form is letting them down, not their home form!

and i'm also well aware we were only unbeaten at home but trying to be smart and adding that in adds nothing.

When we come to play the likes Nottingham Forest, Charlton and Watford at home I will similarly think to myself, "that's 3 points right there, has to be".

No matter how emotional you decide to get over my opinion i'm still going to say it and guess what, one fan's opinion isn't going to affect whether a team gets promoted and it obviously isn't alright with you that i'm apparantly "looking down" on your club otherwise you wouldn't be posting complaining about me.
