Live - Saturday's SPL action

Scottish Premier
comment on the article

Welcome to another busy day in the Scottish Premier League.

Leaders Celtic visit St Mirren in the 1230 kick off. These early games can often be a bit flat but Gordon Strachan’s side showed no signs of grogginess when they crashed in four first half goals at Fir Park earlier this season.

Later on, Aberdeen go to Ibrox looking for their first success on Rangers’ turf for 17 years.

Dundee United host bottom club Hamilton Accies, while Motherwell entertain Hibernian.

Hearts are on a roll of three 1-0 wins. Can they make it a fourth at Tynecastle against a Falkirk side that are on a six-game unbeaten run?

Finally, Kilmarnock are at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle; a match that will be broadcast ‘as live’ on BBC ALBA from 1930.

Of course, you can listen to BBC Radio Scotland’s coverage of all the games on the wireless and online.

Or why not join us for the live text coverage on the website?

Let us know your early predictions and send in your thoughts as the action unfolds...

Re Dandy Don, I presume you have no problem with your lot sing about Davie Coopers Death, Ian Durrants injury and The Ibrox Disaster.

First of all "yardcelt" I'm loving your quote sayin that "wee fat boyd is not in the same class as scot mcdonald, considering that boyd has scored way more goals than mcdonald has ever done. Oh and Mcdonald is like 10 stone heavier then he was last season. -Good one that. Honestly.

Anyway back to the important stuff. Once again, Walter continues to play people like Adam and Darcheville. Whatever happened to the likes of Burke and Velicka. Both are twice the players JCD and Charlie are. Alright Adam can take a free kick but he's too slow and can't beat anybody whereas Burke can. Burkeys final ball is also way better. And once again I'm sticking up for Velicka. Not that I think Darcheville s bad but Velicka is more likely to score. He's a proven SPL goalscorer. Darcheville gives his all but just isn't ruthless enough.

In January I'd like to see Rangers bring in Andrew Driver from Hearts and Mark Reynolds from Motherwell, as well as Peter Lovenkrands.

I agree with MapleRidgeBear, i think that Darcheville does try his best but he just isn't clinical enough in front of goal. I would also like to see Velicka get his chance because look at his record against Hibs & Celtic, it's quality!! He's always scoring against them!! In January, i would like to see Rangers sign Andrew Driver & Christophe Berra, also maybe Peter Lovenkrands. I would also like Rangers to sign Alan O'Brian from Hibs because he is one of the fastest guys in the SPL & Marc Wilson & Andreas Hinkel can't cope with him.
