Lizzie's crash in AustraliaTrack cycling by KP_Cov_Edi (U12369655) 21 November 2008  Sad to hear of Lizzie's crash in the points race. Hope she can recover to allow her to take her place in the team pursuit. Not sure where the stitches in her arm are so difficult to know how much she will be affected by it. KP_Cov_Edi (U12369655) posted Nov 22, 2008 The good news is Lizzie was able to ride the qualifying round for the team pursuit this morning (Melbourne time) and the trio of Lizzie, Katie and Jo have top qualified for the final against the Aussies. Should be a good final as the time difference in qualifying was only 0.165sec. The final is due to take place shortly.

The girls had a good strong ride and took the Aussies by 0.6sec in the final, clocking 3m 29.890s so 3 gold medals between the 3 of them in 4 events was a good result. Without Lizzie's crash in the points heat, it could easily have been more. Comment on this article |
