Matt Hayden has been a fine player through the years. I was lucky enough to know him when he was a fast bowler playing in Brisbane at the age of 16 - then they found out he could bat!

His time is coming to an end, I think he would agree. Both he and Ponting have been hanging on for the Ashes, but, and it is a big but, will he make it? At the moment, just, but he does need to make some serious runs before the summer is out.

He was never just a flat track bully - he scored far too may runs at a fantastic rate to be called that. He changed test cricket together with Gilchrist, as the Aussies showed you could score at over 4 runs an over.

Credit where credit is due please.

Good synopsis of all the recent series we have had. I will grant Australia had a good record against us so far.

It is just that things are changing. Your recent loss 2-0 is just an indication. In fact things are no longer the same after Sydneygate. Things are no longer the same for Australian cricket after Steve and Mark ( no I don't mean the Waugh brothers !! ).

Fatanstic player,not good to watch but effective..I think he lacks a left hander's flair but his bullying style is good to watch at times..Needs to shut up over a few issues..calling India third world and depending on the Indian premier league to earn a fortune for himself..Dont go to India if you find it so bad..

Calling India third world is not untrue. It is.

Australia isn't far off the edge either. And the way the economy is going in the US, there are parts there that qualify.

If third world means poverty, sub par plumbing, stretched medical resources and a rabid following of cricket followers, then he's right.
